The REAL football thread.

Yeah was a good game, good to see Defoe and Kranjcar playing amazing, and Crouchy scoring (all ex-Pompey) Whey!

Part Hart was sacked earlier too, so bring on Avram!

Just another step towards portsmouth going back to where they belong... ahhh what a shame. Meantime Saints continue their brilliant run with another 3-1 away win. Life is good

fuck the spuds they think they can win the league now, boro beat it City 8-1 two years ago and see where they're now.

So, are you people excited about next year's World Cup? As a football (or soccer) big fan I miss some traditional european countries which won't be playing it (like Sweden and Russia).

I'm not as confident as other brazilians who believe we have a very strong team. Our coach also sucks imo. Right now I'm highly anticipating 2010's Libertadores Cup, my fave team (Corinthians) will be playing it with a fine group of players, including Ronaldo (the Real one) :D

Well as you said Sweden won't be playing (because we suck and are if possible even more overrated than England). Still looking forward to it though. After Sweden I root for Brazil as many others do, as long as they don't play as boring as they did in 06, for some reason.

Randy, try watching a sport that doesn't stop every 8 seconds and show shots of the manager or the crowd while waiting forever for the next move (i.e. Baseball or American Football)

Soccer is 45 minutes of straight action, followed by a couple of minutes break, then another 45 minutes of straight action...

I'd say baseball and american football are the boring sports

There is no way that a handegg game could be played 45 minutes straight. It is too strenuous a game, especially considering how much of a mental game it is too.

Yes they did. People who know certain players (as Kaka) say that the 06' group was basically divided in 2 - Those who enjoy the nights' pleasures (Ronaldo, Ronaldinho Gaucho, Roberto Carlos, Robinho) and those "well behaved", faithful christians like Kaka, Lucio, Ze Roberto and others.

That world cup was a shame for us, I hope we can do better next year, playing good football.

Tottenham will be a top four this year, the team is solid.

Today's derby was awesome, Chelsea is the team to be beaten in England (and perhaps in Europe). Drogba is a fucking monster. IMO the only thing that could take their title is the African Nations Cup in the beggining of 2010 (Drogba, Essien and other being out).

Hey can anyone tell me what game it was when...it went to penalty kicks and the goalie was doing cartwheels for a warm-up...and the guy scored and mocked him by doing cartwheels of his own? lol
