The Unstoppable LUNCH Thread!

I dedicate today's lunch to Cara and Derick! This sammich is called the Texas Tease. It has shredded chicken, tillamook sharp cheddar and the shop's homemade BBQ sauce. It also comes with onions but of course I ordered it without them. Plus fries and ice cold water... 9/10.

That looks awesome! However, Texas barbecue means BEEF, not chicken. I'll forgive them for being a little off though.

Thus the name "Texas Tease"

I suppose...I thought the Tillamook cheese on the sandwich was supposed to be the mockery. If it was bbq beef, with the cheese, then that would make more sense to me. Cheese on a pulled bbq sandwich is preposterous! Here anyway.

Whatever :loco:

Damn, they don't list an email address. If they did then I was gonna email them to let them know that their Texas Tease sandwich is neither Texas barbecue nor a proper tease of Texas barbecue!

I have nothing against the sandwich though, I'm sure it's awesome.

They're Seattlites, they'd probably print it and post it on the walls and then laugh at you. Besides, the major assumption outside Texmas is that the sauce and smoking makes the barbeque, not the meat. I tend to agree, but then, my family was Nebraskan. I still prefer the beefs though, so have patience, I'll turn eventually.

3. To arouse hope, desire, or curiosity in without affording satisfaction.

That's what I was thinking. Because it makes you think WHOA THOSE TEXAS BBQ SAMMICHES ARE POSSIBLY A LOT BETTER THAN THIS FAKE ONE I JUST ATE WHICH WAS STILL PRETTY AWESOME IF ONLY I WAS IN TEXAS EATING ONE

I'm not saying bbq chicken is not barbecue. It is, but it is not a predominant type of bbq in Texas. Kansas City, yes. So then why call it a Texas Tease when it's actually KC bbq? Just as famous sounding.

I've had your proper barbecue and some of these places do manage to create decent mock-ups. Especially this little barbecue shop downtown. I think I need it for lunch.

Also, Cara: Texas is known for barbecue over here, not Kansas. So they will say Texas. *shrugs*

So all you west-coasters know about barbecue is that it comes from Texas. KC Barbecue and Memphis Pit Barbecue are not discussed?

Not in this part of the valley, no. I am sorry.

I KNOW, yes, but others tend not to. But I am cultured. *polishes monocle as he puffs his pipe*

I still want to know what they mean by "tease" in the name of the sandwich.

If they meant it to be a taste of Texas without going to Texas, then they fail because chicken is not Texas barbecue.

If they meant tease because it's not the right meat, then they fail because it's just silly to substitute one kind of regional bbq meat for another in order to call one a tease.

If they meant tease as in a mockery, then having cheese on it does just that. But still, not the right kind of meat.

Back to shoe shopping.

I'm thinking the sauce and the smoked meat and the fact it's a big sammich. That would make SOME sense, in west coast-ese. I don't see how cheese fits in to the name, though.

Next time I go I'll make sure to tell them they've offended Texans with the name of one of their sammiches. I'm printing Cara's post now for proof.
