I know journos keep throwing Big 4 questions out there but it still makes me wonder what these people are thinking when they answer the question. Surely in Scott's case it would have been so much better to palm the question off that answer it and look like an idiot.

It's tough even calling that a headline. It's basically what we were told happened 6 months ago. I felt like I'd entered a worm hole to the past when I read it.

The thing that gets me is that yesterday it was all "oh I don't mean them ill will" etc etc, today it's more news we already knew. He's not contradicting himself, but he's certainly dragging this shit out and riding it for all it's worth. It seems like he's willing to answer any question about it, just not answer it properly.

That line about waking to the headline he was a pedo was lived out by a poor guy here in Perth this week. Apparently it was world news that a 4 yr old girl was abducted from a campsite in the remote town of Canarvan nearly 3 weeks ago. The cops did find her and it turned out to be a good news story but on the day they found her and her abductor was named, one of the TV stations didn't do their research properly and just used a picture of the first aboriginal guy with the same name they found that matched. This poor bastard lived hundreds of miles away, was in a hospital with his own sick kid at the time, and had no connection to the case yet the tv station ran the story. Looks like it will cost them $400K in damages. I don't know that it's actually worth $400K but for the sheer act of not doing their job those bastards deserve to pay for labelling an innocent person with zero connection to an actual crime, a pedo.

I agree. The Big 4 isn't even a marketing thing any more, it pops up in occasional news articles, but in general no one gives a shit. They could actually change it and put Exodus in there and pretty much no one would even know, unless they were Blabber commentors

Maybe Scott is just trying to re-live the past, remind people Anthrax were once at the top of their game, were once on an almost level tier with bands they started with, because I honestly can't see them regaining that position again. Even if this new album is a giant slayer it's not going to propel them to the heights of any of the other three bands.

I think Scott's working on the theory that Metallica are still hugely successful and they pissed of a large portion of their original fan base, now he's trying to do the same

Maybe he was just having one of those moments where it's like, ya know? Fuck Mustaine. I would definitely understand that. He seems more resentful (and rightfully so), Or at least letting it show.
