The what's going on in Thrash thread

Eric needs to move his butt if he wants to be first. News several links up from the Testament article is that Dipshit and Donkey from Anvil want to put on a virtual concert on July. Technically I wouldn't call them metal, more of a joke, but they call themselves metal and Blabber listens to them.
Yeah I saw that. I don't what category I'd put them in. Dumbass metal?

Only for the stupid :p

We've still got people here complaining about coming out of shutdown. Most of the shops have opened but pubs clubs, eateries etc still have limits. Different states have different rules here but I think all states are close to the same rules as of Monday. The state Premiers are now fighting over which boarders should be open but they've got nothing better to do...it's not like they can do their actual jobs during a pandemic! :) I'm pretty sure we are still a few months from opening boarders though, and international borders will remain closed for probably 6 months, unless New Zealand keep crying that there is too many New Zealanders at home and they want them shipped to another country.

The problem is Metal is still in there!
My wife just started listening to some live isolation show with multiple bands on the bill and the first band playing is a Thrashgrass band. But hey they are better than Anvil :)

I think some of them might accept that. It really seems like some people are struggling to stay in their own country. I can't believe how many people here are complaining about spending a few months in the country they call home.

Who was calling for this? Ohhhh. Nobody.
I agree c'mon guys, at least do some DDP!

Who's calling for it? The band's bank account :)
We will get out the other end of this and bands who have put in the effort will have a found base of supporters paying for merch and others wont.
Still I suppose Exodus were due for a break of sorts so maybe this is their time. Testament probably were due for a short break too. But hey I'm still thinking they could do something.

We've got the mass of people from the south who want to go north for the warmer winter, and the idiots from the north who think snow is actually enjoyable who want to come down to the ski fields. It's bloody rude of Coronavirus to interrupt their plans.

I know it's a big commitment at 3 hours but this 6 and a half part doco on the Aussie thrash scene shows just what was happening down under from the 80's onward and how important some of these bands were too us and in some cases the world. There is a little bit of poetic licence and favourable memories but overall it's not too extravagant. There are so many bands and faces from the early days I was involved with, and so many bands that I'd forgotten existed. There is also a few fallen thrashers in the mix, but it's good to see them mentioned.
