The what's going on in Thrash thread

I know I'm probably in the minority. But don't hate this. I like fun nostalgia merch. And this actually is something need now anyway..not like a new record! You sons o bitches!. You lazy knuckle dragging... Oh sorry, I kinda trailed off for a second .Ahem. If it's priced like any other sanitizer I'm ok. If they are fleecing people for the Anthrax name I'm not.
And I agree. I'm surprised this didn't come sooner!

So does that mean you'd be okay marketing Nirvana Bleach too :)

Edit: Nevermind

For me if it's not him it's one of those moments where Nick was being a shithead and mimicking Dave. :)
To be honest it doesn't sound completely like Dave, but it doesn't sound anything like the other two...and what's with Nick and Jnr doing backing vocals but Marty not getting a shot? No wonder Marty was hesitant to come back, he wasn't treated as an equal :)
Marty wanted them to sound like Japanese girls. He was under control by his future self. So he wasn't invited. Now that! Should be on wiki!

Still better than Damned If You Do! Production alone lol.

HAHAHHA I can't argue with that.
I also agree the vocals are not great. There is some great guitar work and great drumming on it but overall it's let down by the vocals and the dreary song in the middle, Shrine Of Apathy I think it was...oh and the last song.

Damn I wish I could remember my wiki login :)

In parts of RIP I think Marty got his wish....ooohhhh I should say that about such a classic album :)

Just wanted to jump in here and say I checked in on Act of Defiance, Chris and Shawn's new band.

Apparently Chris is playing guitar for In Flames now.

I still can't wrap my head around why these 2 would be so dumb to quit Megadeth. Based on the quality of their songs they are not really great songwriters and I can't believe they are getting paid more now to teach drum lessons and tour with In Flames than to play with Megadeth.

Gotta be one of the biggest bonehead moves in metal right up there when Max quit his own band that he formed,

Megadeth has never been a long term home for anyone other than Jnr and it was sketchy even for him at one point. Seeing Shawn and Chris leave was not overly surprising to me, Dave's obviously hard to live and tour with, even he admits that. Being in a highly valued band with plenty of publicity isn't the be all and end all for most players I wouldn't have thought.

Nick Menza cites how pissed off he was at being sacked by Dave but even he admits that once he pulled his head out of his arse and stopped blaming Dave for everything life was so much better. He rode Dave until Dave cracked just for the fun of it, he was part of a band that could earn between $100k and $400K every night, he was in a band that set him up for life. But life outside Megadeth was more value to him than if Dave hadn't sacked him. For Shawn and Chris, maybe their new music isn't something I'm going to listen to all the time but if they are doing what they want, living life the way they want, that doesn't make their move away from Megadeth a bad one in my books.

Don't want Kurdt to think he's forgotten. :D.
Yeah I don't get what they were thinking.

They said they wanted to be able to write. We've now seen what they can do... I don't mind AOD but the drums are still weak and the singer isn't so great.
It was a blessing for me when they left. At least in the drum department. Megadeth is much better off.

Kurdt is the best metal producer the 2000's has created!!
It's like they tried and in some parts actually succeeded but then just said "argh fuck it, it's too hard" for half the album.

I agree they are better off. And you can't blame them for wanting to write their own stuff, I'd prefer to write my own stuff than be little more than a session muso called on to play someone elses music. Of course I don't have record labels ready to sign me up as a solo project or for the band I haven't yet created, but still I know what I'd rather.

Although it's not like comparing them to me is a fair comparison because I'd have been kicked out of Megadeth years ago. I'd be too much like Nick was and instead of stepping on egg shells around Dave, instead of not playing jokes on Dave and instead of being a good little boy, I'd have been a bastard just to see how much of a rise I could get out of the guy. :)
