The what's going on in Thrash thread

No. But it could be an entertaining fight. :p

Yup..and we invented buses (along with pretty much everything else). Thanks for nothing!

Hell yes! Those rhinos would turn them all into whiney mush!

My money is on Tom and the eventual renaming of Megadeth to MegaKK (because we all know from Blabber commentors that Kerry will be anywhere there is money to be made :) )

The weird thing (and obviously everything is weighted via one's perspective) is that what Jnr did as far as we know it was not illegal, yet how many times over their career did Dave get into issues with illegal drugs and that was okay?

I asked Michael Gilbert about that. He said the label is the one who just put the song out there. But the real push was going to be when they officially release it with a video.

Ah that makes sense because the video looked like it came from a genuine account but with nothing more than the album cover as the image it didn't look to legit.

Lol. I thought maybe you did it! :D

He said he'd have already called Dave if he would let him use his fingers...have some more coffee man :)

This could be why Greg was close enough to someone who could write a story. New this week from their recent album.

That was my excuse for not ringing Dave too...but I still wonder if he'd really want that gig :P
Coffee attained.

Yeah totally true. Dave is cherry picking morality. Or maybe it doesn't count because it was before he was born again :err:.

It's unreal how many people are acting like he did something illegal. It's been weeks. We'd know if there was an investigation. And then the people who say well, it's not illegal but it's morally wrong he's 56. What the hell?! The same people act like they waited a couple years after they were of legal age to drink to do so. I say good for him! Good for anyone who can do that (not the wanking part, but being older and still being viable). Madonna is with some dude who is in his 20's and she's like 60 something. Why do people care if it's not illegal?
You know what I do when I see an older man or woman with a younger partner? I think either, hey they've got money or good for them or both. And then I move on with my day and forget all about it.

Oh yeah that would do it. I'll have to check this out later :headbang:

I need more coffee too. But it needs to be iced. It's hot!

No idea how Canada is doing with covid etc but as much as Greg seems to have brought up the Megadeth idea I wonder if Wreck-Defy is active enough at least locally to provide him with enough of a job until things open up and they can tour.

I usually have my iced coffee in the afternoon the first coffee of the day, before breakfast is always hot.

Oh yeah I forgot about that born again thing. I'm pretty sure everything before hand gets scrubbed from history when that happens.

There is multiple weird things about this case, like you say old women with young men is encouraged by some circles and it's often celebrated on TV. There is the fact that it's not illegal. And for all those nuts claiming how it was sick they obviously don't understand human behaviour, "Teens" is still one of the most searched for words on Pornhub. Yet it's not until the media can find someone to bait their hook with that all the nut jobs actually get outraged by it. If only someone wrote a song about it. One about a fish with a hook in it's mouth and they spell out the word FREEDOM!

Hmm come to think of it I really haven't heard much about Canada. So I think they must be doing ok.
Not sure what Wreck-Defy has in mind or where they have been at touring wise in the past.
My hopes real it's a real gig for Greg. I guess we'll know soon when they post dates.

I reckon with Wreck-Defy Greg might have more chance of being himself rather than just a hired gun. The obvious trade off is of course Megadeth will always be a bigger and more prominent gig. If Megadeth could be a stepping stone to make Greg's next project bigger that would also be good.

I can't figure why Mustaine wouldn't want someone who uses there fingers. Especially considering the esteem he has for Cliff.
It can't because of Jnr's lame take that you need to use one to cut through the guitars. We have ample proof that that is bullshit.

I think you have a better chance at not being treated as a hired gun in just about any band besides Megadeth :p. But his check would be bigger! And it would raise his profile to dumb people who don't
already know.

I suppose I can see where Dave's coming from, he wants to protect his brand. But when the brand has been in more shit for worse things over the 40 odd year history it does start to look like there was something else that caused this. However for the past 6 months or so Dave's been happy to let Jnr be spokesman for the band, that to me doesn't sound like the strained relationship he claimed. To me this thing makes Dave look very weak and unsupportive which shines a darker light on him than Jnr. But I guess he's not interested in any one elses opinion.

I'm no expert but to me fingers or pick is all about the person not the music. I've never heard anyone in the crowd say, 'shit that bassist is good but I really wish he'd use a pick'.

Greg could treat it as a competition. "Which other hired gun can I last longer than with Megadeth" He can have a tally board with the times and names on it and cross them off when he attains each goal!

Oh sure I get that. Although I don't think many Megadeth fans care or want Jnr gone. I would absolutely love it if this backfired on him and sales dipped for what was expected. I would fave one giant HA! followed by a long series of chuckles.

Lol I don't think you could ever reach an end to that game in Megadeth!. And no I've never heard anyone say that either. Cause it never happens! :).

I just listened to the Wreck-Defy song. The music is pretty good. There's a part somewhere before the middle of the song that really reminds me of part of Confusion Fusion.
Damn Greg always has such a great bass tone. I'm not totally sure how into I can get to that singer's voice though. I like it but I don't like it at the same time. But it is a pretty good song.
By the way I love that new Flotsam tune :headbang:. Sounds a little more old school.

Yeah I agree with the thought that fans don't care and don't want Jnr gone. Most of the comments I read yesterday on FB are calling Dave all manner of derogatory names because of this. People on the net are fickle and don't always follow through on their threats but with the number of them coming out I wouldn't be surprised if it does backfire and sales drop.

What Megadeth needs is someone who can play with either. It would drive Dave batshit if every song the bassist changed :)

Yeah the singer of Wreck-Defy has always been their let down, he's gotten better each album but he's still got something that's not quite right.

It's getting harder to wait for the new Flotz album :)

I'll prepare my chuckler!
God's honest truth I getting ready to go out yesterday, and I put my hat on and I did a double take on whether or not to wear my Megadeth cap as I was putting it on.
I'm just not feeling it.
Although I did end up wearing it lol. It was windy. If I'm going to buy this I think he needs to keep the bass tracks intact. Or. It has to be unbelievably good. But I'll still be sour about it.

That would be great. He'd get Whiplash! from angrily looking back.

Yeah I know what it is I don't like about it. but it's to hard to explain.

I know! Grrrr.

If they have any hope of releasing it this year they have to keep the bass tracks. But I know where you're coming from I'm feeling less interested in the album the more this shit goes on. I tried to ignore Jnr's BS abut it sounding Prog and all that and remained hopeful for something good but now I'm getting to the stage of not caring. Having a Flotz album on the horizon is also helping that feeling.

I've spent all morning looking at new washing machines and microwave ovens and reading the reviews is like reading tabloid press about Megadeth, all the bad news they can find with very little evidence :)
