The what's going on in Thrash thread

Lol oh what a day what a day! Half way thru reading this I thought the same thing about the bass!

I see on FB today Dave is selling his stage gear (or someone on his behalf is). Seems like he's putting his name out there everywhere, I wonder if he's trying to remind people Megadeth are still valid.

Sounds like Exodus! Is it wrong that I thought it would be a touch heavier?

I haven't made up my mind yet. I does sound like it might have come off Blood In Blood Out, but they did tell us this album was going to be heavy as shit (or something like that). I like it but I need to listen to it more.

Lol.
Leave it to Flotsam And Jetsam! All the other bands are cancelling shows because of covid. Flotsam gets cancelled because of no vac. Typical! :tickled:

Yeah, as much as people don't want it to happen this is going to start happening in Australia soon. Right now gigs are falling apart everywhere because New South Wales are spreading covid around the country, but even when it opens up things are going to change. At this stage the government wont mandate the vax, (but that's because they are gutless and know there is an election next year). However so many venues are saying they will and if it comes down to it I'll almost guarantee it's not just the fans that get caught. Despite the huge push from the Australian Music industry to get jabbed and get music back I'll bet there are band members out there who will be refused entry to gigs because they refuse to get vaxxed.

Just listened to the Maiden song. I like it a lot more than the last. It's good. But at the same time it didn't excite me or anything.

I think the biggest problem with Maiden these days is that they have been doing it for so long, and the last few albums really haven't varied that much, that when they release something now it can't help but sound like them and sound like we've heard it before. For me Maiden is a band best served up an album at a time not a single at a time.

Yup. If you wanna travel and play you're gonna have to do it. And should anyway.

I don't think anything but the first few Maiden albums were singles album. Since maybe Somewhere in Time the albums play better as full albums rather. It does make it difficult to listen to their albums when they make the 4 hours long though :)

Oh damn. Right. .They have a US store a UK store and a Europe store. Why no Aussie store?!

We have very few labels set up here. NB were going to set up a local office before covid but I think that's gone by the wayside now.

Those albums are so good. I need to get some of them still. Some never made the transition from cassette lol.

They are good albums, although I don't think as highly of the first two as many seem to, however I think they become better writers with albums like Somewhere In Time and Seventh Son.

Such a shame. Very ignored market. I mean I get it. It's far. But a good company could probably do very well there.

I reckon just about any label could because metal really is becoming a common thing here again. Selling numbers wont ever be as high as the US or Europe but they'd still sell and sell at a high price because of out shitty Aussie dollar. Bands like Alestorm, Dropkick Muprhys and a few others have set up local distro deals with a mob here and there is always new stock arriving, maybe not in all sizes but definitely new stock and it's selling. A label with hundreds of bands should be able to do the same.
