The what's going on in Thrash thread

Haha, I think the same thought when I order something. I look at the address of the sender or store before I look at the price. I'm not worried about stuff coming from covid hotspots like Sydney and Melbourne but I always check that address!

Good ole Frankie toeing the line. I think we all know by now that while the ideal world is release, tour, release, tour, it's not an ideal world any more and this idea that it's "the right thing to do" is just fucking stupid. When money hungry Scott pulls his finger out of his arse and realises that many fans don't see every tour, and many tours don't reach every city maybe he'll realise the 'right thing' is far from it.

I think from now until I hear a song off the new album I'm just going to assume that Scott and Charlie haven't written anything that matches Kings and they are holding this shit up simply because they are trying to find a song that might make the album worth releasing.

It's not like they'll play much from the new album on tour anyway. At best they'll probably play 2, maybe 3 new songs and the rest will be the same songs they've played for years. So it's even a hard sell to try and convince people that they are supporting the new album with a tour when they only play 1/3 of it live.

Can't help but see why this country is so fucked when it comes to covid cases. The government mandated QR codes on entry to stores so they could track and trace where cases had been and who needs testing if cases pop up. Theoretically that sounds reasonable, police have been stopped from accessing the data to trace criminals, and the data it gives away nothing more than time and a phone number so even the die hard haters of government over reach don't have too many issues with it. But our governments call it a gold standard in tracking and tracing to stop the spread of covid.

Yet last weekend a women who decided to go to a covid hotspot for a funeral brought the bug back to our town, first case in 12 months. She shopped at both local shopping centres at different times, but does appear to have mostly adhered to the stay at home rule. One of the supermarkets she visited was while my nieces were working. 8 days after the woman was in the store track and trace tell my nieces they need to immediately isolate and get tested. Both nieces couldn't get appointments to get tested yesterday so had to wait another 24 hours until today to get tested. My nieces now have wait up to five hours in line for a test, then they now have to isolate until they get their results back, which should be within 24 hours of the test, but could be 72 hours.

All that is an inconvenience but not really a huge problem, better to be safe than sorry etc. However in this gold standard of track and trace, neither of the two shopping centres have been cleaned beyond their normal nightly clean. It's been 8 days since the incident and my nieces, even while adhering to lockdown rules, have worked multiple shifts at the shopping centre coming into contact with hundreds of people each shift. They get told to isolate until they get a negative test, yet their parents who they live with and have been with all week are okay to go to work without getting tested. Not only that but their mother also worked at the same shopping centre several hours after the incident. Gold Standard be fucked, we are hardly bronze standard.

My first thought on seeing that headline was that they'd have to finish it first!

Dude, what the hell. All because of one person. And because you can't control every single person an even bigger what the hell to the rest of it.
So, get tested and hurry up about it. but wait in line for five hours. Meanwhile keep working at the store that hasn't been properly cleaned so that we'll really have no idea when you got it. If you have it. Jeez. Don't you guys have the home test that Dee used? ...:)

Sometimes they talk like the album is finished, other times it's like they only have to wait for the announcement of tours and it will be finished, then other times it sounds like they've barely recorded anything. At least MegaDave is telling us his album is complete and although we've heard nothing but a single riff we sort of have proof that it's recorded.

It's such a weird thing. I know my nieces are happy to get tested and get on with life, as much for themselves as the people around them but the wait times are ridiculous. But to be told they have to isolate and be tested but the people they live with don't seems ridiculous. If they did catch it from work there is almost a 100% chance they've given it to their parents but their parents are still okay to go to work.

We don't even have rapid testing here, well it exists but it's not the test you have to have if you've been forced to get one. We have to go to specific sites, some are drive through, where you sit in a long line and wait your turn. We've got truck drivers in this country that need tests every three days to stay at work, but every third day they are loosing 5 hours to covid testing, yet if the try and stand up and argue against it they are called anti-vaxxers and anti-government.

Yeah it seems completely pointless! Freakin bureaucratic bullshit.

Man. What the hell. That's gotta be killing the truck drivers to lose 5 hours every third day. Man some people really need to be fired. Time to do better. That goes for pretty much every country.

If we wanted our governments to be efficient and work properly we wouldn't vote them in :)

It's hilarious to think that the states mandate a test, but then don't provide the system to get that test. This country relies so heavily on trucking to get food supplies everywhere yet it seems no one gives a shit until there is no food on the shelf. It's like no one cares about the punishment and shit hospital staff go through until those hospital staff are all sick and can't look after them. On the whole it's not just an Australian problem but it really is a case of having our priorities all wrong.

Yeah and then when it hits the breaking point it's. Oh my god?! Why wasn't something done?! How could this happen?! (again) You can almost set your watch to stupidity.
