It's funny, the private schools here have to log on at 8:30am and remain logged on until 3:00pm. In their day they spend nearly the full time doing work on their computer. The government mandates 3 1/2 hours of 'education' and the public/government schools work on that figure, yet there is fuck all in place for the kids below high school to actually use computers whilst not actually at school. I know some kids don't have computers or the internet and they have to be looked after too, but you'd reckon in this day and age, and under the circumstances where we are trapped at home computer learning would be encouraged, but not here.

It's no doubt that the private schools here are better set up, but they are also better funded. The thing that shits me the most though is that the school refuses help. It would be so easy to teach them to run standardised forms, worksheets, etc, or to show them how to make videos that aren't out of focus, or just how to orientate a goddam worksheet so the kids don't have to stand on their ear to read shit. But the schools are too scared to ask for too much external help in case it costs money, or in case the teachers complain about the extra work and report the school to the fucking unions. We've got a few parents currently standing up like me for the kids but at moment the school just brushes us off with "it wont last long", but we've got no date for how long it will last.

I've got a mate who took advantage of the lack of border control from NZ. He came here way back in the 90's, married and had kids, never went back home, never voted in NZ, never did anything. Then when is Mum died about 20 years ago he couldn't go back for the funeral because he would have been arrested for more than 20 years of tax avoidance. He'd paid tax here, which was nice of him but his own country didn't see it as nice. :) I'm not sure how many Aussies did the same but a lot of Kiwi's did before they changed the rules.

Xena's a pretty woman she doesn't get too bare much skin in a cop show, but she doesn't need too...shit I must be getting old :)
What was he supposed to pay taxes on if he wasn't there?

Oh she shows all sorts of boob and stuff in Spartacus. :D

I believe pretty much every country expect you to pay taxes while you work overseas. I know if I was to work over in the US but not become a citizen I'd have to pay whatever tax the US requires and then pay the tax my own government deems is appropriate. I don't know what the figures are and how it actually works but the only way to avoid it is to become a resident and my mate never bothered doing that. It also means he's never had to vote here because he not on the register, but he should have voted in NZ.

I've got to settle for the face and the clothed figure in our show. :(

I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, too much home schooling. The teachers are getting shitty when us substitute teachers don't do enough, then they accuse us of doing the fucking work for the kids. Half the teachers want the kids on the computer to get their work, then want them to write it all down in a book and parents to take a photo of it to prove it's the kids writing/drawing. I'm offended they think my kids are not up to the work they are sending so I've gone full retard.

I just spent 30 mins making a table with shaded boxes and multiple colours, borders and fancy text that kind of looks like a colourful crossword layout, so my daughter could input some numbers and look like the tables the teacher photocopied out of books (honestly it would have been easier to scan the image). The other day I got my youngest to cut and paste diagram of animals from google, colour them and label them all in Photoshop then paste them into her portfolio. The best thing is I didn't have to show her how to do any of it, I just helped her with the smaller sections that needed colour and the actual colour to use.

However the best one we've got this week is the eldest's teacher saying that using computers for sums is okay as long as the kids show their workings. My eldest is heading to high school next year an she's expected to show her workings for sums like 10x0 and 0x0. I reckon she deserves an award if she can figure out how to do that!
Shit, I'd be insulted too. Sounds like they're calling everyone a liar.

It does. I honestly don't know if they are, I don't know if maybe they suspect one and it's a message to all to make sure, but it pisses off that they expect all the kids to collect work on computer and not do the work on it. My youngest's ICT (computer) work this week was to draw a grid on the ground with chalk and make a path for one of her toys to go from one square to another and they called that coding. Now I realise at 7-8 years old she doesn't need to know what real coding was but fuck me drawing on concrete with chalk is even less advanced than the computers I had at school :)

Next week I'll get my kids to hand in their work in their workbook

I'd love to be that annoying that I could put in that much effort for a shit stir :)

Fuck I've just realised it's 4pm and between helping the kids, making time for all the shit the school sent that I needed to read, annoying the crap out of the kids, and feeding them, I've done almost no work all day. We're off to pick up the Mrs. in about 30 mins, lucky it's going to be a cold and wet weekend cause it looks like I'm going to have to use the weekend to make up for what I didn't do today!

Yeah then what would we do?

I came into the show late but was still pissed they cancelled it.

Well obviously we'd all be screwed!

I saw one of the Evil Deads about 12 months ago on a late night movie run but I don't remember seeing anything else related to it for years. I was reading today that Hellraiser has got the go ahead for a TV series (which in itself was old news) but they are dragging in all sorts of names from other successful horror shows so hopefully there is some promise.

Man I hope it's good. that franchise has needed an updating for years!

This is a show on the STARZ movie channel. I caught it on Netflix. I think it went 3 seasons. Way after the last movie.
