The what's going on in Thrash thread

Good words about Dave? Now that would surprising! ;)

Yeah some might say he brings kind words on himself with all the kind words he says about others.

I really do hope he's still got the voice to pull off something that sounds like PSBWB as he's suggested. I like the production of KIMB, old and stale like me :) but I prefer the songs and song writing on PSBWB if we are going to get an album that sounds like the first two.

I think I like both those albums equally. It makes wonder though. Because everything he and Jr have said is on the music side of things. Nothing about the vocals. It makes me wonder if he knows that his vocal tone and approach would as important as the music if they are going to back to those albums.

I like them both I just prefer different aspects of each one.
Considering he got vocal training for RIP and several years after and those years were some of the best years of his singing I wonder how far back he's prepared to go with his vocals.

I'm just listening to some of those live bootlegs from that site I posted (yes I did :P ) the other day and so far what I've heard is amazing quality for bootlegs. Their rating system is spot on, I didn't download anything less than a 9/10 (cause I'm a snob :) ) and so far even Suicidal Tendencies was amazing, especially for a 20 year old concert.

You know none of the songs I've heard sound all that thrashy. And the singer does sound like the guy from Disturbed. I'll wait to hear what Neptune thinks.

Kind of a let down really I was expecting much more out of this release. I don’t really like the vocals but there is some impressive soloing on it.For me there’s just too much of that radio polish thing going on ,yes you hit the nail on the head Redfly that Fucking Disturbed sound.Well here’s looking forward to the new Sanctuary I hope that one doesn’t disappoint!

ST have never sounded great live, there always sounds like something is missing. The Bizarre Festival 2000 is not perfect but its as good as any live ST has been

The Testament one is a good set and the sound is quiet good but it's a short set. The 10th birthday Motorhead 1985 gig is a good one too.

That's funny because I think some of the vocals on RIP are whiney sounding. His voice on SFSGSW was absolutely killer.

Yeah I've heard a couple songs and I've skimmed a few. I kept waiting for the heavy or the speed and it's not there. I'm kind of shocked. After all this time between albums and being in Exodus you'd think they'd know what people want. I completely agree about the radio polish. And I don't understand how they thought it was a good idea for the singer to cop disturbed. But hell yeah some great solos.

Speaking of Testament. I see Lamb Of God did a stream show. That's a lot of bands now. And still not a damn thing from Testament. I don't think it's gonna happen. :(

Oh for sure he definitely had the whine happening at times but I tend to think he was more accepted as a vocalist after RIP and before Risk. He seemed to have more melody and tune, which suited those songs better. (But I could be wrong.) I really like his voice on Peace Sells, although I think there was more aggression in it on SFSGSW. Do you reckon Dave uses an auto tune (or similar)? :)

There is quite a few bands doing streams according to site like Bladder. I don't read exactly who but it does seem like every day or so there is another headline of a stream. But you're right Testament are very quiet
