The what's going on in Thrash thread

I listened to the new Wreck-Defy last night. It was only one listen but overall I'd say it's a more solid release than the single we heard a few weeks back. Seems the lyrics are angry and pissed off, not sure if there is a specific target to the insults but there is a theme. The music is heavy and in some parts fast. It's not going to break the world and I'm not sure if I'll buy it yet but it's worth a listen.

I was also listening to Heathen again yesterday. I am still struggling with the vocals, for the most, as redfly says, they sound too much like Disturbed. But there is some really cool tunes and decent drumming behind some of those vocals. The middle of the album is a bit weak but if one could amp those vocals up I think the album would lift a few points.
Well that sounds like a thumbs up for Wreck-Defy?

Personally I wouldn't pay for it anyway. Even if I was their biggest fan I'd be reluctant. It's only a cover of a Queen song and three remakes. It's good to have something new, but digital is definitely the way to go for these sort of releases.
No! What if it was good! or better?! or Testament?! Physical!!!

Interested to hear them do a cover of Skid Row. Of course I'll be interested to hear the whole album when it arrives, I've liked their previous stuff...but I still want to see if they can do a better cover of Skid Row than the current Skid Row cover band lead by Snake :)
I still can't see anything from BW. I emailed their webmaster days ago but I got nothing so fuck'em!
Out cover a cover band?! LOl well it is Snake.

There is a lot of ifs and buts. I'm glad DA have done something in their time off (other than those interviews), I'm glad they have given the fans something but when it's not actually something new releasing it in digital format is okay. Releasing it for free would be better, but I honestly don't think too many people would be buying a physical copy of this anyway.

Oh I forgot about that. I actually prefer BW these days. MI's new site is terrible for finding news, Blabber is full of blabber commentors and BW seems to have news :)

There isn't much there, not even a full song listing for the album which is due mid November. But yeah they are throwing cover of Slave To The Grind on there. At least it's a cover from when Skid Row was a real band :)

Then they can just make one for me! :p
