The what's going on in Thrash thread

I don't know why he bothers. He should just start a side project. I'd love to hear his stuff before the others get their hands on it. Just to see how metal and or technical it is.

Now that is about the best thing I have heard related to Metallica in a long time. It could be crap, it could be stellar, but put his money where his mouth is and show us.

They'll probably have a live stream before Testament does. :p

Obituary had the first of their three live streams in the last 12 hours. No idea what sort of numbers they got but it does show that even paid concerts are an option in this climate.

At $15 a "ticket", but the possibility of a worldwide audience I'd be interested to see just how many people streamed it. I watch a pub stream every Sunday arvo which is just a small acoustic show streamed for free but even with only a few thousand viewers the stream jumps and freezes. I'd really have like to see one of the Obituary shows but I wasn't paying any price for the risk of watching a band pause 14 times during a song.

Buffering of streams still seems to be a problem worldwide. I don't know if bands like Obituary who are offering a paid service can offer better guarantees that the streaming issues wont be at their end, but I don't think I could pony up money for a service without some sort of guarantee. Watching YT clips never buffer for me, there is occasionally a delay in starting, but not buffering. However watching a full length movie can see the stream buffering. I know there is many reasons for that and it could easily be at any one of a heap of different connection points the studios/stream company isn't responsible for, but it does happen. It's why I usually don't watch a movie/concert until it's fully downloaded. I wasn't sure if the Obituary gig would be offered for download and watch later so I didn't look much into actually getting it. I think there was an early offer of a t-shirt with the ticket but I can't remember.

Hatriot have a live stream happening on October 30. Looks like it's one of those Twitch events like Bitner has been doing, no idea if there is a cost but I haven't seen it mentioned.

I don't know if their other twitch things were shows or just a bit of jamming.
Twitch does seem like the go-to thing for musos, and honestly it couldn't be worse than zoom, but I haven't needed to do anything with it so I haven't bothered.

That must be why I haven't found anything to do with it. Even when I do play games these days they aren't connected to the net, let alone connecting to some sharing program!
