The what's going on in Thrash thread

You better not be talking about Metallica...but only because Lars doesn't read bad press any more so he wont see it :)

So to welcome him into the band I present this....well the band presented it first but I'll steal their thunder.
(Notice he answers the favourite live song question right :) )

I'm impressed they have a thing all made for him already. It's like they determined to be on the ball now!

Since it's a bit quiet on the metal front these days here's a Mega-fact from the man himself.

On this day in 1986, on a run of fall dates to the Midwest, Texas and East Coast, we stopped at the infamous L'Amour of Brooklyn, New York where we shot our first music video for the title track from 'Peace Sells...But Who's Buying'.
We filmed band footage all day before our show that evening, and also included some of the live footage from that evening's performance as well. The video was directed by famed New York artist, Robert Longo.
Fun Facts: Due to the strobing effect toward the end of the video, which was reported could cause epileptic seizures, the video was banned in the UK.
Also, the opening scene of us walking across the stage was a plug for our new Nike endorsement that we had courtesy of Capitol Records.

So the title of the new record is out!!The next @exodusbandofficial record is titled “Persona Non Grata” and will be our summer 2021! And I LOVE the studios name here in @decibelmagazine , “The garage next to Tom Hunting’a house”! Haha! Engineered by @stevelagudiproductions , produced by us, being mixed by @andysneap as we speak . Early indications are this monster sounds fucking sick! Doing some spot vocal stuff tomorrow with @zetrodus and then tracking is DONE. Gonna be a long wait until the release of this beast on @nuclearblastrecords

They had a Nike endorsement?!! God how times have changed. Now only super huge rock and metal bands can get those. Along with any rapper on the street corner...

That's crazy about the strobe. The UK must have been banning vids left and right!

It makes me wonder how many endorsements there really are out there. Looking at Mustaine and Co of the day there wasn't much made of their endorsements, but Nike obviously saw enough value in what they were paying for without branding the names Megadeth and Nike on everything. Presumably other bands had similar endorsements but did every band who was always pictured wearing the same brand shoes, or shirts with logos etc also have endorsements or did they just like what they had on? It didn't make me want them but I do remember many pics of Dave wearing with Nike boots with a red tick.

In the early 80's this country didn't ban strobbing but they put a warning on before such things because it was reported to effect some people's minds. It was kind of like those ads that TV worked out they could put on which worked on a subliminal level. Ads where they flashed something on the screen the eyes didn't necessarily see, but after doing it multiple times for a fraction of a second each the brain did pick it up. They didn't claim strobbing worked subliminally but they did say it could have a similar effect on some people.

Yeah it's an interesting title. Not sure if it means something that might make it sound better when we know more but it's definitely an odd title.

Hey look, the "is Rob gay" dude is now following Dave stories and ready to sink the boots is with his witty comments. Maybe Dave Wright set up an alternate account to talk to himself!

I would however like to know what Dave and Co are doing everyday for the new album. Either it's a shitload of work and this is going to be epic or they are only working 5 mins a day :)

Good questions that I have zero answers to! :)

Yeah we still have those seizure warnings. I'm glad I don't have that trouble!
