I just so all over the place it's hard to tell if I like it or not lol. I mean. I do like it, but I'm not sure if I love it or not. I need way more listens to nail it down. The sound of the drums do hold the whole thing back I think.

I think the same thing every time I put it on. I think it's really best not to try and pigeon hole them anywhere and then they are easier to listen to :)

What is he gonna do? Tour the first album and then ...? Because for me the rest of the Johnthrax catalog is hit or miss. Mostly miss.

Well it is a bit hit and miss but I think the fear would be that he could make a longer set of just his stuff than Anthrax are used to doing.
I'd run with 7 off SOWN, and maybe 7 off WCFYA for about a 60 min set, then I'd give him the choice of one or two off the other two albums.

I'm not sure what I've heard from either band. But it's still very sad. So young. R.I.P.

Entombed came along at a time where I was getting sick of death metal, but it was hard to deny what Left Hand Path was. It's cited by many as one of the best of the genre. I'm not really sure about the 'death n roll' genre that they are said to have created, or help create but Left Hand Path is still played a bit around here. Entombed AD happened due to some split and one of the other guys holding the copyright to Entombed but for some reason I found something more in their stuff, which was only three albums.

Yeah it's crazy . The music is kind of schizophrenic too. But not like the vocals lol.

I know you've said. But which one do you think is their best? I have Screams And Whispers but it's so scratched up that
I can't listen to it. It's been so long since I heard anything I wouldn't be able to compare.

Lol. Imagine if John pulled in more people with that tour than Anthrax.

My fave is Manic Impression. When I first heard it it seemed so disjointed and strange that I couldn't put it down. At the time it reminded me a bit of Celtic Frost and that weird shit Tom G Warrior was doing but I quickly realised that Anacrusis was so much better and stranger shit and it was so much more listenable than Celtic Frost

Lol. Imagine if John pulled in more people with that tour than Anthrax.

It would be a tough call, I reckon if marketed right he could play to big audiences because even if the music wasn't his best he's got a huge following. Whether those audiences would be bigger than Anthrax if Anthrax pulled their fingers out I just don't know. I still think it would be a longer set :)

Yeah I'm not quite sure what that DNR is. I'm terrible with genre's anyway but I read in one of the articles today that LG virtually pioneered DNR. I'm going to get Left Hand Path out again soon too, but I'm still stuck the YT rabbit hole of 80's thrash metal.

Me too, the 80s and early 90s was the best THRASH put out. In my opinion. I was there in the beginning, when it was about the music in your face aggression. Getting into the pit was such a stress relief. But on that note a sick ass band HAZZERD right from the beginning, just took me back.

I haven't listened to anything other than the Entombed and Entombed AD stuff. I probably should rectify that.

Well if Eric starts the process and then the others get involved it could mean we actually get new music. Maybe a full album is just being a bit greedy since they didn't get to tour the last one, but I'd like something other than just a few extra tracks added to Titans.

Cool, I'll check that one out next. :headbang:
