The what's going on in Thrash thread

I'm perpetually down that hole

I went looking for obscure stuff that I hadn't heard before or for a long time. I managed to get myself a list of about 30 bands, some of which only released 1 album, some who released 5 or 6, now I'm hunting YT for those bands and finding out which of those bands warrant further looking into. Unfortunately some of them are only available on YT because the albums are out of print but it's a weird journey.

So in news today we should be getting that new Anthrax album, the one that's aggressive and powerful but not yet recorded, any time soon. Scott Did say they'd release it when they could get back to touring and going by the flyer below that is July 2021.
It's great to see Anthrax back headlining gigs with those other thrash greats Europe

Seems to be a lot more of a rock festival than anything else.
Europe were more than one hit wonders in Europe, but the gig is in Wales, I'm not sure the Welsh loved them that much, but then Anthrax are headlining day 1 so I'm not sure they even know what they are doing.

I listen to Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons and I've heard of the Quireboys but the rest on that list are news to me, and who the fuck names their band with one word and a question mark? Therapy? What the fuck is that?

Interestingly enough it's the names of the sponsors that seem to have more meaning than the bands. Roadcrew is a subsidiary of Motorhead, Planet Rock has been around for years organising gigs. Then there is the names at the bottom. Cloven Hoof is a band name (although probably not what they refer to here), and there is also Motley Brew in the Motley Crue logo so it's obviously connected to the band. The bands playing mean nothing! Congratulations Anthrax on pulling such a high class gig! I wonder if they are even going to turn up.
