The what's going on in Thrash thread

Sorry to hear Bello has had a tough life but I don't know if that's all book-worthy. I'd personally rather read a Dan Lilker book TBH.

That seems like a pricy gig, 12/15 bucks to hang out with the band but NOT see them play? I don't get it.

I think the Benante issue is that he was married/cheating on his wife when she was pregnant IIRC, which is why he was assaulted by her. You guys don't remember those blabbermouth news stories?

I think what's going one with veterans like Blackie and Yngwie is that they were drunks/druggies and very immature when they were younger. They ticked off a lot of people and made enemies. Later on they grew up and put most all of the nonsense behind them, but that reputation still lingers. I think these days those guys unfairly get attacked, like for firing musicians from their bands who most likely deserved it.

Lol. God how thin can one person stretch. I mean how much can he possibly have to say on the same old shit?

To me that question was answered by Joey DeMaio's new podcast. He has a two part interview with HIS OWN LEAD SINGER. I don't know if I can listen to motivational speeches from a man who lived with his parents well into his 40s.

I have heard that, like poetry, that there are more actual podcast creators these days than podcast listeners. I believe it.

If that's all the book is I'd agree but I assume there is more to it which would make it as book worthy as any other muso who has written a bio. I read KK's bio and although I hate the whinging little bitch and think 99.9% of his problems are self created I still wouldn't call his story un-book worthy. Same goes for David Lee Roth who was one step short of claiming he created the world, or Paul Dianno who is just a sour dick or Gene Simmons who did create the world and allowed us to live in it.

That seems like a pricy gig, 12/15 bucks to hang out with the band but NOT see them play? I don't get it.

But there is other bands on the bill and surely as a small band trying to break the scene you'd love to be stuck on a gig like that where people are paying $12 to meet Flotz and get to hear your band which they otherwise would not bother with? I don't know where you're from but $15 for a meet and greet with 3 bands is a fucking bargain!

Didn't know that and don't really care what he did with his wife. My problem with him is that he and Scott have been sprouting shit about a new album for four years. They've used all the big adjectives together with the big nouns and we still have nothing. Pretty much every interview where the new album is spoken about contradicts the previous one and now they are saying nothing new at all until they can tour. Well they have gigs booked in June so by their own words they should be giving us an album, yet apparently it's not even recorded yet. Charlie and Scott are media hounds who are more interested in getting their name in print than their fans and that is what shits me.

I know as much about Yngwie as I know about life on Pluto and I'm fine with that. Blackie does cop a lot of flack over and because of his previous life which did rival the likes of Ozzy and Motley Crue, actually in many ways it was probably even more over the top. But WASP is his band, always has been and I don't really have a problem with him firing people or running it the way he wishes.

If I was Jr. I would fire Thom immediately after he said a word about it.

When I saw this scandal all I could think was that I bet Mustaine is happy he is not the one in trouble for once. ;)

We've been telling Jnr for ages that he should sack Thom but the bastard wont listen!!
Thankfully it does appear that the story is a storm in a tea cup. (actually I'm not sure he used a cup).
While whatever he did was not illegal it should stay out of the press. Really this is no worse than Mustaine telling everyone he wants to play a Gibson :)

Yeah I find it quiet strange that Blabber think we care about his love life but any of the guys (in any band) who are married are not spoken about in the same relationship type of news. Although I suppose they talk a lot about Ozzy and his wife.
Yeah I can't really think of anyone else other than Ozzy. Maybe Scott and Ms Loaf. But they're in a band together.

I agree with Slammed here. If that's all the book is then no. But I'm sure it isn't...he's very quickly deleting and re writing all the stories of him and Jnr :D

Yeah I remember that stuff. I just don't think it's a reason to hate on him years later. It's like they take it personally.

I would pay that in a heartbeat to meet my one of my favorite bands, get stuff signed and hang out. Those memories would be priceless.

I suppose Charlie and his girl (I don't even know her name) are news because they are both in metal, but that still doesn't mean their relationship needs constant updates.

Haha 15 chapters of chatter about playing with Jnr and spending time with Jnr and a video camera gone, the book is down to 12 pages but he's hopeful to get something interesting by October :)

I'd pay $15 to ask AK what is with that eyebrow lift in the photo!!

Yeah Blabber went from the CNN of metal to the TMZ of it.

Oh for sure, just look at all the Ted Nugent articles. That twat never used to be on every page of Blabber and now we have Charlie's relationship, Michael Sweet's love for god and who knows what else. Bravewords has quite a few articles that aren't specifically metal (see today there is one on Meatloaf) but at least they are usually music related.
