The what's going on in Thrash thread

Oh yeah I don't think they'd take a stand and I wouldn't suggest they do lol. As for Dave, Nobody is ever safe is not really a band attitude I'd wanna project!

Yeah the "management" :p

Man you are on fire with using his words against him . Don't make him angry... again.

Still reckon it's going to be hard for Dirk and Kiko to take the stage with Dave, but that's why they are hired guns and I'm sure we've all worked and put up with bosses we don't like. I know I couldn't work with a guy like Dave, I'd be like Nick always trying to get a rise out of him and it wouldn't end nicely.

He's been born again since those words were written, like we said yesterday all is forgiven once you've been born again :)

Yeah I'm guessing even if he went home on the Sunday he was supposed to getting on the net isn't a priority but I've also lost track of which Sunday he was suppose to go home so I can't remember if it's been 1 week or 2.
I think he said he was getting home last Sunday. But yeah I doubt the net is a priority too.

Yeah I would think it would be awkward as hell. But they are professionals. Still you can't fake the gel they developed over the last few years.

You'd think Dave would be itching to hire Greg and get a real Christian in the band.

Then why did Mustaine say he was so happy with the band and never wanted them to leave? Going on about how much he liked the line up and Chris was his Randy Rhoads. Until that is until the next line up. Then it was right under the bus with them. Both Chris and Sean have stated they left. In many interviews. I have never heard otherwise. First Sean and when Chris found out he left too. Because they wanted to write.
That RIP reunion was never going to happen and they knew it.
Hmm which side to believe...

That's true, even Nick who was on board right up to the moment Marty walked off said it was highly unlikely. The first effort at a reunion didn't even get off the ground but he knew Marty was happy doing what he was doing and that nothing but a substantial pay cheque from Dave was going to change that. Nick wasn't entirely happy with the money offered but said he's be on board if Marty was, but that didn't stop Nick and Jnr from trying to make it happen.

Yeah if they had really wanted it to happen it would have. I don't anyone was really into it except Nick and then he found out he wasn't going to get paid until they started touring.

Yeah I think it was last Sunday too, but I've lost track of the days it could have been 3 months ago the way my brain is at the moment. I really wish someone would just drop a washing machine on my door step so I don't have to do all this comparing just to try and make my brain think it's getting the best deal. :)

Yeah it's part of the role of being a hired gun. That gel is going to be the most obvious thing, if for some reason Dirk and Kiko no longer have it Megadeth on stage are going to suffer badly no matter who the bassist is. Dave's already coping more shit than is warranted for his voice, if the band doesn't gel on stage it's not going to be good.

Sack a pastor for a Christian, that might work

Like what he's doing or not Marty likes what he's doing and I totally agree with him expecting a figure from Dave and refusing if that figure wasn't exactly right. By every account he's made Marty loves his current life, sure he could go back to that after any reunion but why should he leave it in the first place if his wants aren't met. Nick was in a bit of a difference position, he wasn't desperate for cash, he wasn't even desperate to play, he wanted to get the band back together for the fans. I can't honestly say one way or another that that's what Dave wanted.

Given that the vaccines don't actually stop you getting it, they just lower the symptoms and slow down contagion they aren't the be all and end all that would fix things, they would help but not fix things. The problem here is that quarantine is a Federal issue (the Australian government) were as vaccines and health are a state issue but neither the states or the federal governments will agree with each other. Like your Democrats vs Republicans we have Liberal and Labor and they can never be seen agreeing. So while not every decision made is a bad one they are too busy trying to make themselves look like the heroes to actually make good decisions. In this country team politics is no longer about what's right or wrong, or good for the country, it's which part has the loudest voice.

In this country the Federal government hand out welfare, so given we supposedly had this under control and people were getting jobs back they cut covid welfare support. Now one state goes into lockdown instead of them announcing welfare they cry that the Federal government should do it. They now reckon a week lockdown is going to cost more than a billion dollars and the state government announced before they will offer $200K in welfare payments. And they wonder why people are pissed off.
Man. We're so far apart yet our politics are very much the same lol.

How many albums do you think Dave has left? He may surprise me. But I'd think he'd want to go out with at least one original member.
This tour will really be telling on a number levels. After his illness and frankly a lot of past abuse and just being however old he is with that many rough miles.
Yeah some of them are really brutalizing his voice. Like he was Pavarotti before. :p

Yeah and I think a lot of countries in the world are the same. Of course there is the extremes either side but it seems like many of the successful countries all seem to run a very similar system and that's a system that really only benefits the pricks at the top of it.

How about this scandal, 6-8 months ago it was reported that one of our blokes running the country was caught doing a Jnr on the desk of a female co worker. They didn't sack him, they gave him 'mental health leave' and suggested he not run at the next election which is up to 12 months away. Even if he quits right now he retires at about 45 with a lifetime pension worth about $120k a year and free medical and travel for his entire family for life. Poor Jnr he's getting ripped off :)

Good albums? At least 1 I hope :)
There may be more albums than tours, especially with his home studio, but I don't really see him wanting to do it for many more years. It would be good to go out with an original member, but that would mean swallowing his pride.

Pavarotti Mustaine...that should have been his son's name :)

Yeah that's a sad statement isn't it? "Can't honestly say that's what Dave wanted". I mean he's talked so much shit about them over the years I can't possibly imagine that Dave was into it for anything else but the money. But when he realized it was gonna cost him money he pulled the plug.

You're right Marty is very much into what he's doing. He's said many times he's not interested in the past

Yeah freakin guys have it made! All our Senators and Congressmen, and women. Get the best medical money can buy, all paid for by us. But they won't let us pay for us and give us national health care. But they will give themselves a raise. Funny how that works.

The fact that Marty and especially Nick got as far as they did I think shows resilience. Jnr probably showed even more resilience coming back after what he did. Seems like maybe Dave is some kind of magnet that they get attracted to but occasionally break free :)

Marty must nearly have released as many albums as Dave and while they might not have sold the same numbers I'm pretty sure he's not short of a decent gig when he wants one.
