Yep, read the whole series, up to book 11. Started up as a pretty bog-standard fantasy, picked up nicely at some point, then got stuck and went nowhere.

Read until I took a break in the 9th book and just never got around to finishing it. Then I heard that Robert Jordan died so I kind of lost inspiration for finishing it. I liked most of the series (the first books were boring IMO too), though I don't really read fantasy so I've not got much to compare it with.
