Just got home from the latest around at the cardiologist. Though I really like my doc there, they all still have their heads up their asses as to what's wrong. After a stress test, EKG, echocardgiogram and some weird IV test thing, they're no closer to finding out anything. Apparently my heart just beats at 140 a minute while I'm at rest, and the near daily chest pains are a mystery.

Oh, and I also might have had a mild heart attack in the last month. You'd think I would have noticed.

They took away my caffeine. No more. At ALL. NONE. I'd seriously hate to be around me now. I feel sorry for anyone in my life. Give it 24 hours to get out of my system and I'm going to be raging she-bitch. I LIVE on diet coke. Not only do I need to lose weight and cut out junk, but I don't really eat meat anymore, I'm allergic to alcohol, I have asthma so I can't smoke. Now no diet coke and chocolate. I know there's caffeine free diet coke, but that's a joke. :yuk:

*weeps for all that is lost*

On my diet I dropped my caffiene intake to only 1 pepsi a day. I've lost 10 pounds from that alone and i'm continuing to do so. Some good will come out of this, don't worry. :)

maybe its the pepsi and not the caffeine thats causing your diet to fail

I don't see the connection between dropping caffeine intake and dieting :loco:

You're right, there is no connection. It's just me being stupid.

It's probably the all the calories and what not in the pepsi that I stopped drinking that's helping me lose weight. :)

awww. it'll be ok sam! its gonna be rough though :erk:
hopefully you'll be done with withdrawal by they time you visit california hehehe.

Yes but then I'll be suffering from another sort of withdrawl, mwahaha! I don't know of any restaurants that serve something that's sugar AND caffeine free, you never see diet sprite on menus. I'm going to buy a bunch of diet ginger ale I do believe.

Thanks for the well wishes guys *GROUP HUG*.

No candy and No caffiene make BWN go...something, something.

Sorry to hear your heart is doing funny stuff. It could be like my father, his " high blood pressure " as the doctors call it is natural for him. It's been slightly elevated all of his life.

I shall mourn your loss. If I stop drinking caffeinated beverages all my years of sleep deprivation will probably catch up at once and basically I'll die of exhaustion instantly.

This is another fear of mine. I'm tired, I get a diet coke. I'm hungry at work and have nothing to eat, I make a huge cup of coffee. I shall miss these.

Oh man.... sorry to hear that :/
I live on caffein myself... I can only imagine the frustration :ill:

but you know... with life come changes... don't worry..
give it some time and you'll adjust to the new habbits....
its hard to give up the things we love and live on, but if you'd have to chose between:
A cup of coffee Vs your health it would be the latter.....

did they say you can have some at some point if all will go good, or... NEVER ever kinda thing?

good luck...

I've been off caffeine for a while (actually off of soda, since I don't much like tea or coffee and I only eat the very occassional piece of dark chocolate). Based on my own experiences you probably won't get anything worse than a week of feeling fatigued and falling asleep at 7 PM then your body will adjust.

yeah, bout a week is what it took me to adjust. then i was doing so good, drinking water and caffeine free sodas. for shame...

every now and then I say I'll rid myself of caffeine, or say I'll stop, but I'm not committed enough, and typically I said it because of all the SUGARRRR.

but now that i've discovered there's this thing known as DIET SODA!!!!! I have no reason not to stop!! :zombie: :tickled:

Well, there's the tooth-chiseling acid content, but ultimately soda is no worse in that department than OJ or Apple Cider. If you get frequent heartburn or acid reflux you'd do well to cut out all of the above.

Also, Aspartame tastes just godawful. Bleh! :yuk:

I hope I don't start falling asleep at 7 PM. I work 2-10. Well, it's not as though I've never had a nap at my desk.

They may take my diet coke, chocolate, cigarettes and hookahs, pain killers, and alcohol but they'll never take ........

the dead bird I keep in a paper bag and huff when I get stressed.
