Last time i got robbed, i was by bike and 2 guys by scooter.
They ripped my bag from the back of my bike and stayed close.
They didn't just leave with my stuff..they seemed to have more time.
At that moment i realised they might wanted more then my bag and i got the chance, to kick the guy that was on the back of the scooter.
(it didn't take much to trigger me, as i got back from the gym)
That surprised them and they drove off, shouting things i couldn't understand.
Untill today, I hate scooters. The sound annoys me to the bone and make me remember things, i do not wish to recall.
In Holland, you may not even hit or knockdown a burglar when they enter your house without permission! If they do not harm you or are in control of the situation, you may not knock them down!
Only out of selfdefence and it will be investigated, because they say thiefs have rights too. Yeah, the right to rip you 'keeps economy going, they say' and even worse: they must hit you first!
So, these days they push little kids with guns through the bathroomwindows and learn them how,where and what to steal.
And the insurance companies say, as they rise like mushrooms from the ground:

My sisters truck was stolen, '86 'yota with 35x12.5 super swampers, 7" lift, aftermarket bumpers. All gone, we have the truck back now, I'll have to post a picture of it, it is the perfect example of why thieves suck. We managed to get $4200 from the insurance so we didn't get ripped of in that respect. But those damn thieves...
I had a pair of jeans and a nevermore shirt stolen from my porch where they were hanging and drying

It's the same thing in canada you know... NEVER throw the first punch... You can't even protect your property with traps that could cause physical damage... You can set up an alarm but I bet you can also get sued if it's too loud...
Yesterday, I was coming home from a bar on foot because I love to walk with my headphones and as I crossed the bridge that connects the northern part of the city to the southern part, some drunken idiot told me: "you better give me your money and anything of value"... I actually had to make him repeat it 3 times because he was so fuckin' drunk... I just ignored him and went on, I figured I would walk way faster and if I had to run he didn't stand a chance... The idiot tried to jump on me but I got out of the way and he fell to the ground and fell asleep immediatly...
We were right in the middle of a bridge crossing a very big river and I wonder where I would have stopped if I really had to defend myself... I have never thrown a punch and I hope I never have to!

Ha yes, one of the many good things about Texas. My mom was on a jury not too long ago, it was an attempted murder case. Apparently some guy was waving a gun around on this woman's porch, threatening her, he dropped the gun, she picked it up and shot him in the leg. Needless to say they found her not guilty.

It became a huge issue here, because it were morrocan guys and because one (19 yrs old) died. I do not know what they've charged her.
That stuff doesn't get fed up, that gets a square inch at the bottom of the newspaper saying: cased closed.
Meanwhile, the frontpage shows a big picture of a school that was burned to ashes and a mosque that was besmeared with pigs-blood.
