Thinking about getting Lord of the Rings Online

Its good I got a hunter on Brandywine, its like WoW except not as gay, and much better graps.

I dont play it as much as i thought i would though.

plus gringing for hours has it bennefits, you get traits when you kill a certain ammount of monsters that gives you =1 to faith, strenth etc.

My roommates were playin around with the beta. It had a lot of cool shit, but its lack of real PVP (you have "monster play" instead) was a downside, and honestly, I'm not interested in gaming in the TOlkien universe. Of course, I'm an RPer, so that's a thing for me.

It was a heavy emphasis on questing and lore/background, that's for sure. And you won't have as huge a player base or endgame-tailored content like WoW.

New warhammer MMO? I am interested! I guess its going to be very pvp oriented?

I'm trying to catch up on everything gaming wise now... finally have a good gaming computer again!

I was gonna get it too, but i pulled myself away from it, MMO's are bad for me, cause i won't stop playing them...i learned that the hardway when i started playing Evercrack...horrible mistake.

if it's just like WoW, no thx. I've quitted that game a few months ago and I still wonder why I wasted so much time on it.

i said its kinda like wow except less shitty, I didn't say this someone else on LOTRO, ive never played WoW so I dunno if it is like WoW.

LOTRO would be cooler if they had got the copyright from Peter Jackson.

EDIT: oh yeah and a cool thing about LOTRO is the fact that you can buy an instrument and actually play it, a content upgrade there doing is gonna upgrade the system so hopefully we can shred.

I wasn't particularly referring to your post. I've heard several times that it's pretty much an upgraded version of WoW, which in my book = crap.

I need something to totally waste my time though. I've got too much time on my hands.

Installed Oblivion earlier... that will probably do the job till I find a worthy MMO.

yah... here I got a 360 with Oblivion and Gears of War. Still, I try to discipline myself not to spend too much time on video games, I still work out and run outside a lot..... I would suggest you find something that involves getting out of your house (or appartment). Makes ya feel better bout yourself.

ah, problem solved. I have a pretty fucked up schedule and therefore I either have a lot of free time or none. And I work inside so....

Yeah, being outside from 7am - 3pm is enough for me... But since most of my friends work night jobs or have left the area for the summer, I basically need shit to do from the hours of 3:30pm - 12am.

Video Games seem like an appealing time wasting option, along with the occasional hike and golfing on the weekends.

exactly what I did till LOTRO came out, and now i dont play that much either...

i think im just tired of MMO's all together, because its an awsomely built game but i've played so fuckin many of them that there starting to blend together. SWG's the only one I stuck with for a while, and the original Everquest.

it sucks having alot of time and not alot of video games that capture my attention for a while. plus living in a small town with nothing to do (and not having my lisence yet) doesn't help.
