Love it? Hate it? Live it?

I only really enjoy a select few bands but respect the movement in general and what it stood for. Modern pop/punk is absolutely terrible though.

I don't really know much in this genre. The Suicidal Tendencies debut was pretty much straight up punk, and it rawked.

early Offspring is really good, and light years removed from their "Pretty Fly for a White Guy" bullshit these days.

The Social Distortion I've heard was pretty good. Granted, I don't know if they are considered punk.

Rancid is tolerable I guess.

I like punk mixed with things, like punk mixed with metal, or crust rock, etc. Straight up punk can a little hard to stomach.

Joy Division is where its at. Still the most depressing music I have ever heard. and they were a punk band.

I only like cheesy-horror-movie punk. It's fun.

Misfits
Samhain
AFI

yes... i was into this stuff very much so a long time ago.

Still have my Black Sails in the Sunset promo poster on my wall though :)

I'm going to see Forgotten Rebels, but I find them more rock-ish. But they rule cause they are Un-PC to piss of standard punk stuff, and they talk about killing homosexuals, being a nazi, and doing herion. It's fun.

dude black sails is when they started to suck ass. answer that and stay fashionable and shut your mouth and open your eyes are where its at. i also dig the mid era pennywise (about time, full circle, etc) and some old offspring and nofx and even some operation ivy if im feeling happy or something. i usually listen to a few punk albums in the summer time, then ignore it for another year. no fun at all - no straight angles is a pretty cool album too.

My favourite genre, alongside with death and black metal. I could go on and on about the bands and the genre, but I won't. If anyone got any questions/want recommendations, then holla this way ;)

everything up to Black Sails in the Sunset is good, in my opinion.

Plus- the poster is fucking cool looking!

What are some good punk bands these days? I only know old punk bands. And ys I would prefer non-pc punk bands. There is only so much righteousness one can stomach from a band that plays three chords.

Some good punk rock/hardcore/related genres bands these days:

Audio Karate
Amulet
Terrorgruppe
Dillinger Four
Bigwig
Give Up The Ghost
C. Aarmé
Heideroosjes
Burning Heads
Bad Religion
None More Black
Paint It Black
Kid Dynamite
Refused (sadly defunct)
Raised Fist
The Peepshows
Descendents
Motion City Soundtrack
Thrice

Thanks henrik man, now out of those which ones are the best?

Depends on what you like. If you're into metallic hardcore with a punk edge (not metalcore), you should check out (in order of appereance) Refused, Raised Fist, Death By Stereo, Breach, Shai Hulud, Give Up The Ghost and Within Reach.

If you're after melodic, fast punkrock/hardcore that is NOT pop punk ala Sum 41 and Blink, I suggest you check out Audio Karate, None More Black, Paint It Black, Terrorgruppe, Burning Heads, Heideroosjes and Amulet.

Bad Religion is very good punkrock with a more old-school feel to it, same goes for Descendents.

Rock 'n roll-ish punk: The Peepshows and C. Aarmé.
