Thrash!

Just listened to my old Nuclear Assault CDs again. Shit like Handle With Care and Game over never gets old, talking 'bout the definition of awesome music. Too bad they aren't going to make any new music ever, tho their latest album was pretty shitty so maybe it's just good that they called it a day. I heard that Connelly is actually teaching history nowadays and the other guys have regular jobs too.

Been kinda obsessed with Detente's Recognize No Authority lately. Awesome vocals (boldness was necessary, yes). Any love for this gem from some fellow UMers?

it's alright, not my favorite but some pretty good tracks. i actually saw them live like a year ago at the Tidal Wave festival in SF, free show, tons of thrash bands, totally awesome. My band is recording a new EP this march at Sharkbite studios in oakland, when its done i'll post up some tracks and it would be cool if i could get some feedback from the thrashers here, i know you guys would be as harsh as possible haha.

It's one of my alltime faves. I loved it way back in the eighties and I still love it now. You also find some live-clips from the eighties on youtube. The newer live-clips (i.e. those from last year) feature Anne Boleyn on vocals.

BTW, if you like the kind of vocals to be heard on "Recognize No Authority", you should also give the albums "Behind The Realms Of Madness" by the British band Sacrilege and "Act Of God" by Znowhite a try. Not as intense as Dawn's vocals, but listen for yourself. (Both albums are to be found on youtube.)

Was listening to Sacrilege on the train to class this morning. Great stuff. Have never checked out Znowhite for some reason though, so I'll get right on that.

So have you guys heard anything about the upcoming Forbidden album? I've seen a few blabbermouth articles about it, Locicero said it will sound pretty much like Twisted Into Form, and not like that whack prog-shit they put out with Green and Distortion.
