Blagged this today and think it's pretty cool. Now, I'm pretty dumb when it comes to Anthrax, only have a copy of Among The Living - when'd they do this cover? Is it the same lineup from AtL? The singer sounds similar, though I might be wrong...

btw - Among The Living really rules, ne? ;) anything you might care to say about it, I'm sure I'll be right behind you saying "Yeah, I agree!" :D

It's a lot more recent than that, although I couldn't tell you the exact date or where it was released.

That is John on vocals, not Joey, so it is certainly not the same lineup as ATL, and I'm 99% sure the track was post-Spitz as well.

Kids, kids! That cover was found on the "nothing" CD single. Actually it was a two disc set, I'm not sure which disc it was, but that is where it can be found. Good luck. Long out of print. April 1996 was when I found those two at Media Play. I'll never forget the ride home, because on the way home a radio station broke away to carry the KISS reunion press conference!!! Also found on those two discs: "Dethroned Emperor," "No Time, This Time," (police cover w/ Frankie on vox), "Fueled (remix)," and "Grunt & Click."

I have that track on the Nothing Australasian Tour EP. The track is pretty good, it's a refreshing version of the song. Now it's not as good as Maiden or anything, but who wants to hear it done just like Maiden? (well i kind of do but thats not the point) It's done as a great Thrax track.

Just thought I'd throw that in......anyhow, you can find the "Nothing" two discs set on ebay every now and again. But basically, if you do not pick up an Anthrax single upon it's release, you are screwed. It's been that way since i started buying them in 1993. What's cool now is amazon or someone will have them right away so you do not have to scour a million stores. I'm out....

Cheers for that! Don't wanna be an ass-sucker, but they sound real fresh on this cover  them fast bits is what I think real thrash is all about. I'm a fucking big Maiden fan, and I'll say this is a damn good cover, bar the monotone first verse :D

:mosh:

I stopped bothering with singles when every single one that I saw was Britney Spears or Puff Daddy or shit like that. I used to buy every single of every CD I owned, but you just can't find them anymore. I went through this with Marilyn Manson back in my black hair/lipstick/nail polish days, you know, back when they actually played instruments and didn't have computers doing everything. I have more singles and b-sides than they have albums out. But I even gave up that. I haven't seen an Anthrax single since Only, and of course now I know I should have bought it, but who knew back then??? Now that I think about it, I'm almost sure I had Fueled, but I haven't seen it in years, which means I need to hunt someone down and kill them. I'd also like to know what happened to my original Stomp 442. I was told by a shitload of people that it was worth a lot because the store fucked up and sold me the promo with the gold writing on the front, that fans aren't supposed to get. I always hid it cause I'm paranoid. That's been gone for a while too now. I haven't even thought about it since the re-issue came out. Thanks a lot, TD!!! LOL

Manson! Ya know what! I still like Manson. I remember getting tickets to see Danzig/Manson/Korn way back, I was either a senior in high school or a freshman in college, can't remember and I ain't digging for the tickstub. Anyhoooo, I had a casual interest in Danzig (not a big fan) had no idea about Manson (this was pre-AntiChrist) but I heard it was the freakiest thing America had seen since Alice Cooper scared everybody back in 1971. Korn, who knew how big they would become. Well I went to the show because most of my buddies were going and if nothing else it was a chance to get hammered and mosh and stuff. Well, missed most of Korn (actually I own all thier stuff, I don't hate them, but I'm not a huge fan, I'm w/ Charlie on this band, they are ok) But Manson!!! WOW! Kicked ass. I think I left during Danzig, I found me a new band! Manson kicked ass a few years later on Ozzfest! I think Antichrist Superstar is one of the best metal albums of the 90s. I didn't quite dig glam manson 1998, but the last record, Holywood, was actually quite good. Thr headlining tour was great. And to boot, they flat out blew everyone off the stage at Ozzfest. Even the mighty Slipknot failed to get the same response as Manson. I'm looking forward to new Manson, due this spring actually. Later.......
