Where have all the flowers gone?
Just what went wrong?

Innocence, insanity, irony
Stone cold reality
Oh lord come and save me

Do you think we're forever?

I've been in tears
Hope has died in me
But now I'm here, I don't wish to leave

Trapped in time
A miracle of hope and change
A swirling mass, no mercy now
If the truth hurts prepare for pain

Do you think we're forever?

The unseen, the eternal river of understanding
Persevering, dying escape
Forever tempting fate
Take me back

A flood of tears bonding my soul with my mind
A dream of love, reality closing in behind
As I close my eyes, the vision dies
As I bid my last farewell to mankind

The unseen, the eternal..."

bad taste if you ask me. not bad taste for music, of course :)

but bad taste in picking the lyrics to give to a girl. if it were me in that case, i would have given you one of the following:

"Come into this night
Here we´ll be gone
So far away
From our weak and crumbling lives
Come into this night
When days are done
Lost and astray
In what´s vanished from your eyes

What came and distorted your sight
Saw you benighted by your fright

Come into this night
Your plight alone
Carry your weight
You are flawed as all of us
Come into this night
You only home
It´s never too late
To repent, suffer the loss

Come into this night
When you´re able
To undo your deeds
And atone with your lonely soul
Once you´re into this night
All minds are stable
Forget all your needs
Lose the grip of all control" (opeth - benighted)

"I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a star
In somebody else's sky, but why
Why, why can't it be, why can't it be mine?" (pearl jam - black)

"Overcome by your
Moving temple
Overcome by this
Holiest of altars

So pure
So rare
To witness such an earthly goddess
That I've lost my self control
Beyond compelled to throw this dollar down before your
Holiest of altars

I'd sell
My soul
My self-esteem a dollar at a time

For one chance
One kiss
One taste of you my magdalena" (a perfect circle - magdalena)

"I wish I was a sentimental ornamnet you hung on
I wish I was the full moon shining off your camaro's hood.
I wish I was the souvenir you kept your house key on.
I wish I was the pedal break that you depended on.
I wish I was the verb 'to trust', and never let you down.
I wish I was the radio song, the one that you turned up"
(pearl jam - wishlist)

so, would i have a chance? :)

to make a quote for this thread is a real pain in the ass,as you see:) anyways..
he gave me a little part of Eternity part 3's lyrics not Eternity 1, sorry my mistake this time.
("So little time
Your crystal eyes gaze into mine", isn't it nice :p)

aaaand.. speaking up your amazing work on this thread, well I must admit you really picked up those songs which I'm deeply in love. Especially Pearl Jam's black is MY SONG.
So yes I think you would have a chance  ;)

I'd rather go for some kind of teleological theory.I believe that the general thread of evebody's life is written. What we call luck is just the intervention of some Cosmic Joker, that likes to test us in order to learn, become stronger or wiser.

(what we call)Good luck is something like a bonus of what was meant be,but a small amount is given for "free"(maybe an initiative to go on?)
(what we call)Bad luck is something like Dante's Purgatory(or so i see it),where you have to go through in order to get wiser etc

In many cases, these may seem ridiculous or cynical(in extreme cases i mean-serious injury, death),but,in final analysis, everything is done for a purpose.
Here come what we call "coinsidences",which ,i believe,are just fate uncovered,that "want"to lead in one direction(one's life-thread).

i shall not be mistaken for being a "slave" to this aspect of the subject, that "fate" is a term, used as an excuse(sympathy for the poor).
I believe that those life-threads are roughly made,in order for personal contribution.Nothing is coming from the sky, just because god hates us or the opposite. We have to learn to take control of our lives,be masters of ourselves, earn what we get.Nothing is for free(cept for"lucky"moments that, seemingly, are for free).
So,there are specific"stops"in everybody's life, where one is required to make specific choices(even if,by that time, they seem of no interest to us).
So it's up to that person to carve his path kinda, serving fate's strange reasons again, but unknowingly"chosing" one of the many alternative scenarios(better or worse).

Summarising,i believe there is fate, but it is not "strict".It depends on us, how we manage to build our lives(here come the reasons for struggling and keeping on living)and serve the purpose we are born for, which is and will remain the biggest secret of all...

(of course the people who want to misunderstand this will do it anyway,so bollox to them.i just found a good chance to tell my opinion.and this is completely reasonable.cheers:) )

yeah, agree, but i still think that there's a certain kind of bad luck that we can not change whatever we do...
and some people are damn lucky...

Stop whining and MAKE your luck....
that reminds me of something i read in John Varleys book.
ohn Varley,
"Stop whining you bastards, do you wanna live forever?"
"To live? you call that a life?"

or this by Frederick Pohl - Gateway

Frederick Pohl "Gateway"
"maybe there is some kinda law for detaining the unhappiness, who provides an average level of unhappiness to each human being."

or this one by Douglas Adams
It's interesting why - said Marvin with gravely voice - when you think that it's impossible for life to become more insufferable, suddenly it appears to be possible.

on the other hand i found these qoutes from my notebook of qoutes:

Tomas Edkok
Sometimes when things look darkest and worst, the sun rise up.
you don't believe me, huh?
It depends on whether the man believes in the sunrise.

Roger Zelazny - Donerjack
Life is bad only sometimes and this is necessary to be able to appreciate it's good side - the sense of a breeze in a summer day, the joy from the discovery - scientific or whatever it may be- the taste of a good food, the best wine, friendship, love.
In one or other form everything is love.
now it's really confusing, huh?

it is. :guh:

'Of all those who are born, most are so fortunate
as to be sentenced to death
For surely they are better off than those
who are sentenced to life

And yet...
None are more free than they who in their lifetime
rather than thereafter
have found themselves from a sentence to life delivered

For these are the few that live to be granted
redemption.'

– S.F.W. Nijhof

'life is like my dick : sometimes it's hard, sometimes it's not'. that what one of my mates said once, and he was right.

John Steinbeck
Everybody on this world has a dream, that he knows never will come true, but till the end of his life he hopes for that miracle. And in this is the sorrow, the grandeur and the greatness of the human kind"
