"The Glorious Burden Posted by Jon Schaffer on Thursday, July 31, 2003 at 9:34PM :
- Hey People, Well the album is done, and it's not just done, it rules!! I have never been more pleased in all my years of recording.
It came out the way it was supposed to be!
And now for the big news, it's Tim Owens on vocals and he did an amazing job! I know there were a lot of people hoping that this would be the case, and it is.
I've asked Neil to put a sample of 3 of the songs for you guys to check out. SPV agreed to letting me do this as long as I did not put the whole song up. I hope you enjoy them, I know I do.
I'll be in touch soon with more news and details of the release dates for the single which will be called "The Reckoning" and the full length CD "The Glorious Burden."
I can honestly tell you I've never felt better and am truly looking to the future with more optimism than ever before. Until next time, Jon"

This is a good career move for Ripper... IE are heavy as hell and his vocals are a good fit - here are a couple of songs with Ripper on vocals:

Hmm, I was never much into IE but now they got my favourite drummer and MOST favourite vocalist... but the vocal style is too "opera" for me, I liked him more when he was in JP.

damn you beat me to it! :p

this is a great news to hear, Iced Earth are one of my favorite bands

it is about fucking time, IE have been one of the best metal bands in the US for a very long time, hopefully they will now get some deserved recognition.

If Jon didnt change the Lineup so much the band may have already got heaps of recognition, but fuck yeah its good that Ripper is there now
Now don't get me wrong I like IE but I think the line up changes are more of him being a pompas ego maniac prick. Did ya listen to the interview on the horror show disc? Its just classic. He slams on Helloween and Manowar, I mean its cool if he doesn't like them but why rip on them in a public fourm? That hurts his ability to reach some fans. Some people will hear him speak and say fuck it.

it woulda been great if ripper was vocalist of new found power,on the other hand i have no idea how pats vocals sound so it could be a good surprise,by the way when is nfp gonna release some shit!!!
