read atlas shrugged, its logic is the strongest i have ever heard against christianity, so strong i was converted. it brings to light the horror of this doctrine.

Read it.

Unlike some people I don't need books to dictate my belief systems. Thats as bad as believing in a political tool like the Bible.

Oh yeah, I'm an atheist to the extreme if that clears anything up.

nah, i am fideist (something between Agnostic and christian, I like it :D )
So far..religion does not necessarily mean being devoted to a higher will..thats bullshit, but too many ppl view it like that. But I don't mind, because, lets say, 60% of the world's religious leaders (monotheistic religions) pervert the meanings by their greed for mind control :(
As lemmy kilmister says, "if jesus showed up now he'd be locked in jail"
F**king crap.

Well, if you don't have a religion but do need hope, remember that many scientists said it's likely that reincarnation can happen.

Haha..so give em more money and soon we will have faster-than-light spacship drives :D
@Chromatose: Well, yes..religion was formed because of the need for spirituality..unite em and we have some cool stuff to smoke weed about, haha :D
I will stick to my stuff.

Think a second is good.
I am not a fan of going to church. Doesn't satisfy spiritual needs.
And there are some theologists in germany, who have some interesting things to say, but are oppressed by the church, because it is against their dogmas :(
Thank god I have a brain..

Well, of couse it is not like in the middle ages or the renaissance with an inquisition, but I have heard about a theologist in Paderborn, who advocates things like self-salvation is possible in christianity and other interesting stuff (sorry, I dont remember everything which was said), but he is prohibited from teaching these things by the church in a more subtle way than inquisition - they withdrawed him the permission to teach at the universities.
Subtle and effective ways of suppressing uncomfortable opinions..this is a typical symptom of modern society and pissing me off.
