Aside from the classic "Coffin Ships", this album is head and shoulders above an already amazing metal album.

Just my opinion. Whaddya say, Max?

I think Empire Falls just may eclipse it. The mix in this album is also better than TGW...can't believe I procrastinated this long in getting it.

In "Heathen Tribes", which is pretty much a shout-out to primordial fans world wide, I'm hurt that he didn't mention anything about the US, even though I wasn't at that one show. Should gone like this:

From the frozen Baltic
I watched sunrise over Athena
Walked the battlefields of Flanders
And saw some negroes in St. Paul.

Primordial are a winter band...it's best to listen to them in the dead of winter with snow on the ground.

I bought TGW when I was in Milan and the snow was coming down pretty hard. I remember listening to it on the train home and looking out the window at the wintry landscape and thinking it was the perfect soundtrack. It's the kind of band you must be in the right mood for.

The cool thing about Primordial is that every album is pretty unique and as a result, I've heard every album of theirs noted as someone's favorite, with the exception of maybe Imrama. I could never pick a single favorite, but I guess it'd be a tie between Journey's End and TTND.

yeah, TTND was my first Primordial album, I have the whole disco now, but TTND is just so badass. "As Rome Burns" <3<3<3
