Ditto, but i hate the songs too haha

indeed not only a crappy sound but i also agree that their songs suck lately
where the cool harmonies go ?
also i hate the snare sample he (bergstrand) uses
PLease Andy give the man some tips !!! :hotjump:
the guitars on the latest soilwork are great though and bjorns vocals too
also love that bass and drum combination in some of the songs
soilwork also are choosing the in flames path :yuk: ... and i loved their (older)style sooo much.

You guys talk about shitty sounds, and personally i have this theory. I think townsend is going deaf. My proof is if you listen to the last couple albums he's produced, starting after Terria, the mixes have gotten muddier and muddier. SYL sounded like a turd, and Alien is, from what i've heard, a continuation of that turd, sound wise. The heavils album he produced sounded like shit, but they were a shit band, and even the DTB disk sounded slightly muffled.

I don't know whats going on with In Flames. I hate it when a band claims to go back to their roots, and completely sound like shit. Its as if they are afraid of evolution. Personally, I'm getting fed up with metal music. Everything is starting to become regurgitated i guess. Don't know how to describe it, just personally not impressed with anything new that has come out. The new soilwork is great, thats pretty much it. For me the last good gem i've found was Ayreon-The Human Equation.

Anyways, my two cents....

lol... i did entertain that thought about townsend... but I think its more that he's just trying to push the brutality issue harder with SYL, thats all.
