Tom sound on Katatonia - The Great Cold Distance?

I love the drumsound but especially the toms on this one.

They sound very warm and smooth yet are punchy and fat at the same time.

Any ideas on how to EQ (e.g. some Maple toms) to come close to this?

Also, is it just me or do they sound very dry but with a tad room ambience to make them just wide enough?

And sorry for the sample, it was the only one I could find from that album...

I love this album too, I guess the drums are pretty dry sounding because they often have a lot of reverb based synths going on in the background.
