tone settings for bodom riffs?

im trying to get a decent bodom inspired distortion and overall tone for a cover of mask of sanity and towards dead end for my band and right now its really being a bitch (my amp that is) im using a psa-1 preamp and mosvavle mv-962 poweramp in to a custom built 2x12 and i currently use a combanation of the jcm-800 and mesa dual rec models on this amp and its a killer sound!... but it lacks that punch that bodom have, im trying to get a close enough sound using my intellifex as well using some very slight chorusing and delay its just the distortion that is bugging me, should i try a different model? any help would be awesome

Boost treble, cut mids and use about 6 on bass.



That gives you a good melodic death sound.

works a little closer, got it set to where the marshall model is at treb-8 mids 3 3/4 and bass at 7 1/2 and the mesa at treb 6 mids 2 and bass at 8 more fine tuning will get it closer plus my behringer EQ should be in tomorrow so we will see how that works (2 channel, 31 band...oh shit)

You're gonna want your bass a little bit lower. Boost your distortion channel with an SD-1 and see how it sounds. Also, use a very slight but not too fast delay.
