Ummmmm yea im new to ultimate metal and someone has probably already done this, but it doesnt matter we can do it again. Well yeah the title speaks for itself, what are your 5 favourite opeth riffs. Btw these are mine at the moment:
1. 4:47-5:50 April Ethereal
2. 4:22-5:30 Advent
3. 11:55-13:16 Black Rose Immortal
4. 8:54-end To Bid You Farewell
5. 2:04-2:40 or 7:09-8:04 Advent

Outro riff to Moonlapse Vertigo
Intro riff to The Drapery Falls
Clean vocal riff on Demon of The Fall
Intro riff to Blackwater Park
Intro riff to Death Whispered a Lullaby

I see we've got a real perceptive crowd here..

What I like totally meant to say is like mikael is god!?;1

The night and the silent water outro riff.
Deliverance outro.
Beneath the mire intro.
In the mist she was standing intro.

but it changes of corse :D

Damn that's a hard question.
I guess the chorus riff of "Serenity Painted Death" is a fave. The verse riff in "White Cluster" is pretty cool.. The "holy whores.." part in "Ghost of Perdition"....The opening four minutes of "In Mist She Was Standing". Absolutely fuckool. And many many other riffs.

Hey everybody, new here

I'd say that little transitional riff in "The Moor," right before Mike starts screaming, the riff right after the intro in "The Funeral Portrait," the second riff in "Bleak," the opening to "Night and the Silent Water" and the end of "Deliverance"

# Face of Melinda, the epic distorted riff after 4:25
# Leper Affinity, the riff where he sings "Oo!"; 2:12
# Master's Apprentices, the riff after 7:47... so good!
# Blackwater Park 1:47, acoustic to distortion, insane headbang-fest
# All the harmonised riffs and leads on the entire Morningrise album.

Some examples: Black Rose Immortal - 6:03, Advent 4:25, Advent 8:10, The Night and the Silent Water 00:00-07:34

Notable mention: Under the weeping moon, 3:07 - ~6:00

I was actually planning to pick just 5... :kickass:

I like whole numbers not just riff lol :D But if I have to choose I think it will be the starting riff of Lepper Affinity. That was the first song I've heard from Opeth =) sry for bad english :D
