Yea they're kind of a band on the edge, but at their time there was really no true (tr00) black metal bands except for maybe HellHammer and Bathory. Venom was also very thrash if not all.

^ yeh, but i wouldnt really consider them thrash myself, i guess a mix between trash and black if you will. Sure they werent black in the sence of bathory but they still represented that side of the muscial scene at the time i feel

Celtic Frost to me sounds like slower thrash just with the heavier guitars that would be death metal. Black Metal bands to me has the fast single note picking nor have groove in that sense. Celtic Frost is groove and rythmn based where black metal bands use harmonic scale type patterns as each individual part/riff. I would say the guitar playing and music on Slayer-hell awaits or possessed-seven churches would sound more black metal than say celtic frost for the times.

Celtic Frost are essentially thrash. They're slower than your average thrash band, and the vocals became what we know as the modern death growl. A lot of people call them death/thrash, including myself, if not because they were, then because they were a big influence on death metal. They were also an influence on black metal. They were one of the first bands to wear a form of corpsepaint.

Atheist 'piece of time' should be on the list over stuff like megadeth and anthrax.

Yeah, I was pretty ":zombie:" when I read that.

Also, The Karelian Isthmus is far from the best Death Metal album ever. Not even the best Finnish Death Metal album. And Slayer is better. And Drunkard and Hypnosia shouldn't be on this list.

So where's your list? :P

I'd like to see it actually.

The Black album is awesome, and so is Rust in Piece. However Reign in Blood is pretty crappy, three good songs (Angel of death, Postmortem, and raining blood) thats it.
Dont give me any overrated bullshit

Yeah, the only Destruction album I saw on there was "The Antichrist", which was very recent. Not that their newer stuff is bad, but their early material is classic.

retarded comment

also, there's a criminal lack of early Destruction

Why didnt you quote the whole sentence
I said "having no reign in top 10 but having show no mercy there is stupid"
