Is Arch Enemy really Swedish? I thought the Amott brothers are from England and Angela Gossow from Germany...or then it's Swedish just because few band members are...

Arch Enemy is Swedish. Mike Amott was in Carcass, which was an English band. Angela is from Germany.

Was I the only one to notice that Paradise Lost is on this list? They're English, not Swedish.

Yes, that's why alot of his songs are in sung in Swedish

I went with Vintersorg. The Dark Tranquility album is good, but not amazing, and I'd make a similar comment about Arch Enemy.

Vintersorg's Spiral is fantastic! Steve Digiorgio finally got a good mix for a change and it should show everybody how bass should sound on a metal album. I am suprised how underrated it is. The music so different and fresh compared to most realesed this year. I think it rates right up there with the new Opeth.
