 I got this last week. I had no idea it was this new! How long ago was it released?

Actually, it was released in Nov. of 2000. Call it a oversight on my part. I didn't get it until Feb. of this year. However, in my opinion, it could certainly use any push it can get in the metal community. Anyway, consider it a official addition to my list or just write it off here in this posted topic. Either way, for anyone who has not yet heard this album, it is well worth your time. Numan has taken a decidedly darker and heavier, more guitar-driven course within his music. I personal like the majority of his albums but this one and its' predecessor, "Exile", deffinately would catch the ear of any Metal fan. Both from the musical and lyrical perspective.

Tough one. How about this, in no specific order:

Ulver - Perdition City/Silence Teaches You How To Sing (definitely a pair!)

Opeth - Blackwater Park

Björk - Vespertine

Emperor - Prometheus: The Discipline of Fire and Demise

Solefald - Pills Against the Ageless Ills

Madder Mortem - All Flesh is Grass

Tenhi - Airut MCD

Thorns - s/t (it was this year, right?)

Fields of the Nephilim - From Gehenna to Here (yet only as far as the actual material goes, as I have the original ones of which this release is compiled and therefore the necessity of this release is on my part questionable)

The Black League - Doomsday sun / Utopia A.D. (hopefully the latter one as well as it is not out yet...)

By the way, does anyone know where to acquire a copy of the soundtrack to "The ninth gate"? The film score was composed by Wojciech Kilar, who is also responsible for that of "Bram Stoker's Dracula." This man is a genius!

Buckethead - Somewhere over the Slaughterhouse
Steve Vai - Alive in an Ultra World
Derek Sherinian - Inertia
Opeth - Blackwater Park
TransAtlantic - Bridge Across Forever
Esucarys - Diary of a Lost Soul

Hmm... I don't think it's possible for ten good CD's to come out in the same year. Those are all the CD's I bought this year that actually came out this year, and I'm only waiting on two more releases before 2002.

Have you heard the samples from their official page http://www.theblackleague.cjb.net ? They are very short (only one minute each), but they sound quite promising. Eagerly awaiting for the day Utopia A.D. will be released.

(Ja hauska nähdä muitakin suomalaisia täällä)
