Totally completely utterly mind-blowing Opeth track of the moment!

You know how, sometimes, you just go off at a tangent and one particular song that you've never really been bothered with before suddenly and unexpectedly just blows your mind, so much so that you play it over and over again? Well I'm having just such an experience right now:

Deliverance

  Fuckin' ACE!!

I went through that phase when I first got Deliverance. I've been going back recently and playing Blackwater Park. My fav part of that album is still the end of Blackwater Park, "We have all lost it now, catching the flakes of dismay..... The sun sets forever, over, Blackwater Paarrkkkk"

I know the feeling!

I downloaded a couple of Opeth tracks off the net, purely by accident. I thought they were so good that I went out and bought ALL of their albums in one go.

I guess I haven't given them all the same amount of attention that others who bought the albums one at a time would have done, so in a way, my discovery of their sheer brilliance is still ongoing.

Still can't quite get my head around Orchid, tho'.

Hehe, I experienced it a few days ago with The Amen Corner. Why didn't I listen to that song more often?

A Fair judgement...when I bought deliverence i didnt pay that attention to it..mostly listened to Masters and Deliverence..until I watched lamentations when they closed the show with it...it was mind blowin..the keyboard intro is amazing..

The tracks off MAYH seem to be the ones that suddenly 'click' most often. Like Moonstruck with The Amen Corner, there have been quite a few people who have all-of-a-sudden realized just how utterly brilliant When or April Ethereal are. Me included.

RECENTLY,Face of Melinda just made me go "why the hell haven't I noticed this song before?" before that it was mainly the recent stuff "In my time of need" and "deliverence"

BTPISIO bothers me, but it's not that its a bad song. I mean I love the song, but the ecitnerppa s'retsam part just annoys me in its secluded-ness from the rest of the track.

At the moment, I am experiencing this with a few tracks mainly because I got the first cds at the same time... Face of Melinda as said before, Serenity Painted Death, In Mist She Was Standing, The Moor, When, and April Ethereal. It might as well be a cd-full!

I've just started listening to Opeth on a regular basis recently and "Deliverance" is still the track and album that is my favorite so far.

I did the same thing as you so I know what you're saying. I've listened to them all and I do have my preferences but I know that's bound to change one day to the next.

I'm in a non-Opethy period right now, but when I'm obsessed with them it's usually The Moor, When or The Leper Affinity that gets repeated
Yeah same, I keep listening to The Mantle (Agalloch), but before this I was addicted to Demon of the Fall...

I found that when I was first getting into Deliverance, A Fair Judgement and Delieverance were my favourites...and probably still are...
