im pretty happy with this one at the moment...but gotta improve for sure!

in the latter half of it the palm mutes are way too loud...i dont quite know how to handle that problem yet. I loaded up the Sneap C4 settings and played around with that but every time i got the woofiness to calm down, the mutes lost their nuts so i just left em

im a mixing and recording NOOB :heh:STFUo_O

thanks for any comments.

you guys rule:worship:

now it works

I dig the (short) song. Great lead work and great riffage too.

Sounds decent but yeah you can improve the guitar sound a lot (and the drums also :) ).

First it sounds a bit "distant" to my ears.

How did you record this ?

thanks.

boosted the JCM with an OCD, and used the DI out to the interface. Then through GH's between imp. i think

drums are EZdrummer DKFH standard metal kit crap. I have Slate's samples but i dont know how to use them. Ill get in to that can of worms later i guess.

im not sure what to do with the guitar sound. Im pretty clueless here:)

Did I at least get the levels kinda decent?

I agree. What did you use to "host" the impulses? Almost sounds like you used (speaking from personal experience here) Wave IR and didn't click the "direct" button. If you're using Waves, go get Voxengo Boogex (it's free and very low latency). If you didn't use Waves, then just ignore everything I just said. :loco: :)

But, I like the tune, and sounds like it'll be a great guitar sound once that "distant" sound is taken care of.

Really....hmmm. Ok, let's put our heads together and see if we can get this worked out. Check your Boogex settings. Make sure the Amp out is all the way down (I think -24...don't remember). The Dry Pre Cab level should be set to 0db (maybe you have this turned down too low?) And the Dry Post Cab level I just leave to its default setting (don't remember what this is...I'm at work and can't see it right now). Try this and post back. I'm curious to hear this guitar sound. :)

I let the high and low pass filters cross eachother with boogex : result, no output at all from the ampsim part :headbang:

the guitar sounds pretty cool, but you can still hear it's not miced, it has that direct fizz...

ok ok...wolf, my Pre cab was all the way down. dry post cab is all the way down too but i think it should be there.

viggen i did that trick and it helped too

ill upload a new version soon!

thanks you two

yeah, that boogex thing is pretty cool for the cab sims, but the amp-modelling part of it fucks up your sound.

Will have a listen when i get back from work.

thanks for the help!

gotta love that southern hospitality:headbang:

Hahaha :) Just glad to help if I can. :kickass:

i just tried something else...

i got out the ol' Weber Mass and used the DI out on it instead of from just the preamp

check it out

:headbang: i get a way thicker and better tone this way ( because the JCM power amp gets to be cranked a bit before it goes to the cab sim )

hell yeah

There we go. Now we're talking! Making me want to toy around with Marshall tones again. Sounds great! :headbang:
