From quickly reading through it seems like problem is coming from playing in "pussy style". As he mentioned he played with fingernails and haven't learned to play properly with pick.
That is leading to cranking audio interface input gain (increasing its own noise floor). Adjust input gain by hitting/ strumming WITH pick as hard as you can. Keep audio peak bellow 0.
