Two ProgPower USA Bands Announced

If you want to stay at that hotel I would book it, if it's not already full by now. It will be very shortly. Looks like the UMOS crew will be split up. Glenn suprised us with this announcement so early. Probably going to end up at the Courtyard or back at the Hampton Inn again. Both are around $100 a night, have parking and a pool!:headbang: Can't wait.

It's always cheaper than the Granada. When you will arrive? I want to be maybe a day before the event starts so that'll be 13? I mean the festival is 14-16 isn't it?

Since I won't drive any place is fine for me as long as I can walk back and/or take public transportation to it (stranger in strange land :D) And again I won't mind to share a room (I'm pretty clean :p) with someone.

I'm open to suggestions. Thanks everybody for the support.

looking at getting a room with 2 beds. Not sure if the Devil will be bunking with me, or what....

I hope Pablita can attend I want to meet her too. As for bunking, well as I said before I don't snore:loco:

Yes it is. Here's the announcement thread:

I've booked at the Granada for the 13th - 17th. If we do manage to get something together as a group for another hotel I can ditch that reservation without cost and get something else.

It's kinda cool that Glen sprung this early but it caught everyone off guard and made it difficult to plan a group hotel stay.

If we don't get something together I can certainly host a party since the Granada is the closest to the venue. I'll have a mini kitchen and a refrigerator in the room. Just a thought.

There are plenty of hotels within walking distance. I wouldn't worry too much about driving anyway. Unless we do a group trip to Abdullah the Butcher's joint, there are plenty of food joints not too far away. The cool Vortex is a drive (hamburgers for Carnut and Hawk) but there is another a few blocks away.

I would suggest booking a room close by. Most of the hotels will allow you to book and refuse the room a few days in advance without a charge. I can wait on my room until September 10th before they'll penalize me for killing the reservation.

Most of all don't stress about it too much. We'll make sure you're covered. I remember the first one I went to and how nervous I was. And I stayed in my own country! :D We are Metalheads! We will ALWAYS take care of our own.

I have "house rules".....meaning if Pabla doesn't go... I can't...well not that I can't but it would upset the house. so at this point I have no idea wether I'm buying 2 tix to GA and PP or not. I warned David last year I will not miss this show....so I suppose time will tell. ( I hate waiting!)

F-it. I just booked my flight and hotel.... Residence Inn 4 nights wed-sun and I got the whole package $158 LESS than last year so I went with it. Roundtrip air non stop  and 4 nights $630 SCORE!

I was thinking on booking the same dates (returning 17th home), but on the Granada that's $560 + tickets + air fare = :erk: . So any better possibility (regarding housing) will be pretty good for my income

Like you I think that being all on the same place will be a cool thing, but again I guess it depends on everyone's budget.

On the other hand I can carry my sleeping bag, I will only need a roof and maybe a shower :p

Hawk and me are still concidering possibilities to come. But the cost has to be a bit reasonable...We quickly are at 12-1300$ or so including plane tickets, that's alot of money to spend on one weekend...we'll talk about it next the weekend...
Plane tickets are expensive, cheapest I could find was 650$ :-(

Actually that's cheap I'm looking at $628 and I'm around the corner so speaking :ill:

So far the whole adventure looks like in the ~$1200 without expenses (food, CDs, bail money etc)

Also note that the date of the festival will be announced tomorrow. That's a bit unexpected and will make it difficult to try and get an entire floor of a hotel like SavaRon was talking about. I know I'll be making reservations as soon as I find out the dates tomorrow.

Cool !! I don't know this Wastefall yet, but Pyramaze is good. Saw Lance King back at PPII with BoP and he ripped !! I will definitely dig that.

I just changed my reservation to the Residence from the Granada. It's $100 cheaper for the weekend and it's a suite rather than just a room. It's got a sofabed in the living room and a separate bedroom so I could easily be talked into sharing but I'd like to see what my last roommate has to say about his attendance this year. JohnnyD, what say you?

Ron, the package I got from the Residence included free parking -- the "Atlanta Arts & Theater pkg*". Although I'd call them to find out exactly what that means. They don't give a whole lot of detail other than "a $14 value." I would think that would mean per night.

Where's (what is) the Residence? And I'm willing (eager) to share expenses on any room if the offer is valid.

food is inexpensive, it's the CD shopping that will get you....and we'll keep you out of jail:tickled:

Residence Inn
1365 Peachtree St. NE (There's so many Peachtree this and thats. It's crazy!)

It's a couple of blocks from the venue. Not a lot farther away than the Granada.

I feel like I gotta give JohnnyD first stab at sharing again. It's the same place we stayed last year. Nice hotel and free breakfast every morning. Although we missed it all but one morning because they cut it off before we were awake. :D

Hopefully he'll show up pretty quick because I'm sure you want to have something nailed down as soon as possible. I'll PM him just in case and if he and I don't get something clear by the end of the weekend then you and I can be roomies! I *do* snore but there's a door between the rooms so it shouldn't be a problem. The only reason you don't snore is because you don't have a wife telling you that you snore. :D
