Okay, room booked at
Residence Inn
1365 Peachtree Street
Atlanta, Georgia 30309
USA

from thursday 14th untill Sunday 17th

that's the one I hope ??

Yes, that's the one. I had to book Thursday - Sunday to get a $99 rate for those days and then book Wednesday on its own so that Wednesday's $159 rate didn't carry over for all four days.

Edit: Forgot to add -- don't worry about getting from the airport to the hotel. The train runs from the airport right by the hotel.

(arrival thursday 14.00 houre in Atlanta and departure 17.00 houre on sunday).

mmm, guess I'm not gonna buy that nice set of wheels for my Dodge ;-)

Where's (what is) the Residence? And I'm willing (eager) to share expenses on any room if the offer is valid.

NP: Black Knight - 'Battlefield'

My brother you are more than welcomed to be my roommate. I will charge you 40% of my room price because it will be me and my wife. If it was me and someone else I would charge 33% but I think that is fair. Mind you.... I like parties and sleep little. There is a good chance parties will be in our room, so keep that in mind. PM me brother.

Cool! Those are good times too! If need be I'm sure some of us (at least I'd be willing) would come and guide you from the airport to the train and on to the hotel.

Hamburgers are round like wheels. Well, except for those Wendy's hamburgers but we won't bother with those! :D

Cool. I booked at The Residence as well for us three. Looks like most if not all the UMOS peeps will be at that hotel! Can't wait for PPVII. Should be a blast! I wonder if we could try and get on the same floor or anything? I think I'll call the hotel later and ask about it. Would make it easier to hang out. :headbang:

That's pretty cool that most of us are in the same hotel. I wondered about getting on the same floor too. Maybe a little advance sweet talking to a management type?

Well, I booked at the Granada because that's where we stayed last year...myself, my friend who flew in with me from Tampa and the others we met up with in Atlanta. We were all at the Fairfield the prior year. I'm going to check with the others just to make sure that they are all gonna be at the Granada again, for sure. So, I guess I'll just have to meet up with everyone at the pre-party, and hang out a bit in the Vinyl for some Bass Ales.

Regardless or where we are going to stay I really want we the fine people of UMOS have a gathering at least one of the days to drink, eat and have pics for memories of a lifetime.

I have a strong positive vibe regarding this aventure and I want something cool to tell my granchildren some day

I agree and think we should plan something in advance. Once the weekend gets rolling it tends to get away from you. We've got plenty of time to figure something out and bounce ideas around.

As for Epica, the URL of their official website is www.epica.nl (mp3-samples are to be found in the downloads-section). I´ve already seen them twice - at the Metal Female Voices Fest 2 in Brussels in 2004 and at the Metal Female Voices Fest 3 in Wieze (Belgium) last year. What puts me off are the male vocals (I can´t stand male growling/screeching), which explains why I usually don´t buy albums of any BnB(Beauty and Beast)-band.

Hey Pabla. How are you?
Everything alright?

**hugs** I've been on the run lately, but good! I am so excited about you Carnut and wyv making it to the fest! :hotjump: What's going on with that... are you guys all set or are you still deciding etc?

Hey dude, thanks for the link! Are you going to Progpower as well?
LMAO... yeah, the BnB band stuff gets old, it's very commical, but in some bands it is not done to an extreme... like Leave's Eyes... much more feme vocals than anything else.

We're still deciding, it mostly is a question of costs...Hawk is redecorating his flat this year and my wive is starting a bussiness now, so money is the main issue. If you count all it is a very expensive trip for 3 or 4 days...We definitly plan to come once but it's possible we'll skip this year...Very sorry to who we promised to come and were looking forward to meet us :erk:
I'm still trying to get a mate to go with me but I'm afraid for Hawk it's a no-no this year...If Hawk doesn't come I also feel like not going and try to come with him next year. 2 years in a row will be hard to explain to the lady of the house here :Shedevil:

I understand and I'm sorry since the coming of you both was the catalyzer that moved me to do it too.
Now unless a major force situation arises I'll go (I already have my roomie :D) because now I feel that if I'm not doing it now I may never do it. And I have lost so many opportunities in life because of hesitation that this will not be another brick in the wall.

Hope someday we can make it altogether for good.

:erk: oh man, I hope hope hope you guys can make it... if not, it is totally understood, life happens and along with it many money surprises etc... but I wish you guys to come this year or next, whatever works for you! It's such a nice festival! :headbang:

As to Wyv... you better make it! :D

No. I don´t want to fly. Furthermore, I couldn´t afford it financially. And, most important, there are no bands performing which I´d really be interested in. Actually, there aren´t that many metal bands anymore which I really want to see live. Even at the Metal Female Voices Fest 3 in Wieze last year, there were only two bands (Autumn and Midnattsol) I was actually interested in - this doesn´t mean I didn´t like any of the others performing there (several of which I had never heard before). The main reason for me to go to that festival was to meet several members of the Sonic Cathedral-forum. (Most of them were from the UK.)

This is true (btw, Leaves´ Eyes also performed at the Metal Female Voices Fest 3), but personally, I mostly like bands which feature only female vocals, like e.g. Madder Mortem, Nemesea, Midnattsol and Soulslide, or moderate additional male vocals as e.g. on Atrox´"Orgasm".

As for Epica, here´s a video-sample (about 1:44 and 10 MB in size) of their song "Quietus" - just in case you are interested.
