Check them out. I came across them randomly the other day, and then saw that they were recently interviewed by the lovely site http://www.seaoftranquility.org/article.php?sid=614

I have not listened to the Eric the Red album, but just the How Far to Asgaard album, which was very good. I could tell him why people tend to like the songs in Faeroese, its because their natural vocal talent is better when singing those words.

If you like groups like Elvenking, Cruachan, Waylander and such, you'll like this.

Erik The Red is a solid disc. Great from start to finish. I could see them more at the Heathen Crusade fest more than Prog Power though.

But they are more of a progressive style of the "viking" metal genre. Eric the Red does indeed kick ass. I listen to the song The Wild Rover ALL THE TIME.
