U.S. Metal Festivals vs. European Fests

Well hailing from Vancouver, BC, there are not many festivals to attend. Actually none. Tuska Open Air, last summer was the first festival I had been to and I can say that I'm definitely going back every year. Especially this year with Immortal and Emperor on the bill (so far).

Just from observation I think that Europe has much better festivals in quality of music and general entertainment. I don't think I've ever had as much fun as walking around the grounds outside of Tuska and meeting fellow metalheads, drinking and just having a great time in downtown Helsinki.

Thats what its all about man.

Hoping to go to Wacken this year, as it happens. I think that European festivals tend not to have any of the "-core" bands on the bill, which as an avowed HxC hater, is pleasing to me.

How are the time slots for wacken?
Not 20 minute bullshit sets like ozzfest i'd imagine.
