He has been, actually. Go look at his numbers in our league since he took over. Very consistent. A model of consistency!
I would much rather deal with a less than perfect situation for a week or three, than use up spots that I could be using to pick up potentially better guys throughout the season. If you can get your team to be mostly consistent, and then do good substitutions, you can survive most of the "pitfalls" of not keeping a backup QB (or DEF or KICKER or TE).
In this league, with no restrictions on adding and dropping players, I think this is the best way to do it. Now if I were in some league where it was much harder to make changes, I might do things differently. But I am doing pretty good so far this year. In fact, I am second only to the other guy who you questioned when he said he doesn't keep a backup QB!
goddamnit! I forgot to take Floyd out of my starting lineup tonight because he's inactive. Wow, if I lose because of that I'm going to be pissed.

Man, Collie suffered another concussion today, and he just came back from a concussion too. sigh
He did score me 28 points before getting knocked out, but I pretty much just lost my best receiver for the rest of the playoffs and the Colts probably lost him for the season.
