i'm surprised you gave these such low marks... these are awesome tracks.

They weren't exactly low marks - I still think they're good songs. I was just saving the 4s and 5s for songs that seemed really extraordinary to me. I thought there was room for improvement on the ones you quoted.

I'm sure I'm open for attack on those comments, though, as I'm certainly not well-versed in any of those genres.

Omni, have you heard the Nachtmystium cover of Rose Clouds of Holocaust?

Yeah, it's actually really, really bad. I'm not sure why they did a cover of that song in such a boring and pointless way. The way they did it makes it into a mediocre black metal song, and it also manages to be unfaithful to the original while also lacking any type of forward-thinking ideas.
