Yes, it is a newb topic. Cut me and my 8 posts some slack.

So, I've been pondering this lately. Lately Ive gotten really into listening to good bass riffs, to the point that Im thinking of trying to learn to play it myself. Anyway, I've been listening to and comparing some of the greats and I of course wanted to get the opinions of some true metalheads, but not just on bassists, but everyone--drummers, guitars, etc. So, lets here it, best/greatest of each, and try to it reasonably civil.

a) Alice is a GREAT singer
b) Because I couldn't remember everybody when I was typing (indeed Carmine is an accomplished drummer)
c) Read (b)

NP: Forté - 'Legacy of Silence'

I'd like to throw in Jonathan Davis (KoRn) as a vocalist.

And everyone from Limp Bizkit (except, of course, Fred Durst): John Otto for drums, Sam Rivers for bass, Wes Borland for guitar and DJ Lethal, if he fits in this discussion anywhere (I'm not entirely sure).

alice's voice basically has 2 different ranges, the low stuff like on desperado and the gritty stuff. he's no halford

No he is not Halford...he is the COOP! :notworthy

P.S. Rob has lost a lot of his voice live these days, Alice still has it (not fanboy bs, just a fact).

NP: Bloden Wedd - 'As The Rain & The Rainbow'

yes alice does still sounds great and halford doesn't now but that doesn't change the fact alice has limited vocal skill. i own every alice cooper album and only own about 6 judas priest albums and i'm for sure a bigger alice fan, as someone who is a singer i'm being honest
