Just to chime in here again, I really like it....a lot. As to the lyrics, I kind of agree on their not-so-good-ness. But, personally I don't like them just because his thoughts on, say, the United Nations seem kind of scattered and not well thought out. I can't tell if he's mad because the US went to war and the UN didn't stop it, or if he's mad because they didn't help. Haha. More, as I said to Soundmaster recently, his politics (and religious philosophy) are what I kind of think of as "trailer park politics." This with all do respect to those who live in mobile homes (I have before myself). Maybe the better term is "professional wrestling politics..."
Anyway, if you forget the fact that he is kind of a religious fundamentalist these days, songs like Blessed Be The Dead are not so far off of, say, The Four Horsemen lyrically speaking. Still, there is the rub that he probably means it in the "Left Behind," way, a really bad series of books about The Rapture of the Christian faith.
Anyway, I don't mind any of it. There are even some great lyrics by my estimation....like, "One day I'll dance on your grave, even if your buried at sea...." I like that....kind of poetic.
Also, the music is great, the last guitar solo is very cool. I don't find the lyrics even remotely as bad as I've heard some referring to them as. Not amazing, but not as silly as all that. I even think the lyrics to Washington is Next, Sleepwalker, Gears of War, Never Walk Alone (amongst others) are particularly good.
It will be on my year end top ten most likely.
