The Parallels between Iron Maiden & Van Halen…

They did better business with their second singer….

Singer #3 made their fan base shrink like your balls in cold weather…

The first record with singer #2 got them praise by the critics & fans alike…

They both have a first singer that his claim to fame is that he was “in the band.”

Even though that was a couple of decades ago…

They both used the same producer early in their careers, then made a change…

The result was less than stellar…

Dude, do i need to slap you? Anything Van Halen has done post-DLR is absolute top 40, pressure-cleaned, radio-friendly shit......

It's all true for Maiden though :tickled:

I knew Maiden had sunk, but to be compared with VH...:muahaha: (Ted don't hate me :p ).

The patient, SIXXSWINE, suffers from Sammyhagitis. "SH", as we'll call it, attacks the patient's central nervous system and affects his ability to determine good from bad...right from wrong...and pure, high energy, balls to the wall rock n' sock 'em shag 'em bag 'em good time saturday night soundtrack music from that of the sappy drudgery like "right now" that you can hear in a dentist's chair.

How do you tell good Van Halen from Bad Van Halen??? If you can hear it in a dentist's office...it's not good...I've never been having my teeth cleaned and heard EVERYBODY WANTS SOME come on the radio...I have , sadly, endured strains of "I can't stop loving you" that made an otherwise tolerable root canal something of a literal hell on earth.

I used to love Van Hagar, but one day I figured out that DAVE was the whole FUN equation in the band...forget the music, even...what happened to those HARMONIES?!?!? Michael and Eddie sang cool harmonies together on songs like "feel your love tonight" with the whole bop badda shooby doo wop and what not. BEAUTIFUL! WRECKLESS ABANDON!!! Also, Van Halen used to be about having a good time...they were a real "stay off the sidewalk if you don't like our drivin'" kind of band....then exit Roth and enter Hagar and their suddenly about Love Walking In and ...gasp....DREAMS?!?!? They used to be about WET DREAMS, for pete's sake!

I like Sammy Hagar now, SOLO, and I miss the REAL Van Halen!

They may have gotten #1 albums with Hagar but they still haven't sold as many albums as with DLR. Van Halen I and 1984 are rock classics, while I can't say the same for most Hagar era ones. I'm an Eddie Van Halen fan though, it doesn't matter to me whos singing so long as he keeps playing bitchin' guitar.

Yes they have, they have surpassed the Roth era... I'll get the figures.

of course, because now they have the senior citizen demographic on their side. Old folks all over the world snapping their fingers to "Right Now", "Poundcake", and whatever worthless drivel they are releasing now. :yuk:

Hmmm, actually JP did worst with their second singer (I'm not counting Atkins at all, so Owens is their second), and never had a third since is the first.

Unlike DLR and BB, Halford did better on his own than with JP after the departure.

Etc, etc.

I always get a kick out of the bitterness of the Roth Army. They can' accept the fact that they guy has left the building & will not be back. More so now that, he's had 2 shots at it since he "left" the band in 1985. I'm more of a fan of 1st two VH records myself, but the Hagar era was less flash & more about the band playing as a unit vs. one guy out front prancing around ripping Jim Dandy's style...

Dude, let's face it, Eddie's ego is the reason Dave is gone. Dave took the spotlight away from him. Same reason Sammy is gone, Eddie is an asshole. There are FAR better guitarists out there than him, but no one can top his ego. The problem i have is not Dave vs. Sammy --- Sammy is much better on his own... The problem is that one of my favorite bands growing up is now recording Musak thanks to Eddie.

:Spam: <---- Van Halen's next jingle will be for Spam!!

I'm a huge Halford fan. I bought all the Fight and Halford records the day they came out. I even bought the "Two" project... nobody's perfect ...

Did anyone else hear those rumors that the movie "Rock Star" was based on Ripper Owens experiences on his first tour with Judas Priest??

I like both versions of the band myself. I was just jamming 5150 yesterday. That is a great 'summer' album. I love Sammy solo also, can't say the same about DLR though. I just wish Eddie would get his head out of his ass before it's to late. These guys aren't getting any younger ya know!

It is 5150 time. Eddie should pull his head out of his ass, time's wasting...
