No, it's not a holiday in USA because it's a Pagan religious holiday. The second of the three fertility sabbats. And USA is run by christian zealots so it's not likely to ever be a recognised holiday but it does not stop me from observing it. I am sure the neighbours will be nosing around tonight as they usually do......

I don't know too much about this festival, but my sister celebrates it, and I love to learn, so I'll pay some attention to her today

We don't have a holiday because of this in Norway either, but it fits well with the Labour Day
