Yeah he killed someone, and yeah, regardless of whether it was self-defense or not it was still a fucking dumb thing do... But are you forgetting that there are other murderers in the world? And more importantly, you seem to be forgetting that other muderers also get let out on parole eventually?

Prison exists to lock up the most fucked up people yes, but it's also there to try and rehabilitate the ones who just made a big fucking mistake. I'm sure there are many, many murderers who get successfully rehabilitated enough to be let out of prison after about the same time as Varg, but I don't see you crying about them. The fact is that the only reason people have strong feelings about Varg is because he's "famous", if he was just another prisoner that nobody's heard of being let out on parole, no one would give a shit.

According to the government in your home country, yes he has. Varg is Famous, the government DEFINATLY wants to make an example out of him. He's out on parole after 16 years for murder, which isn't out of the ordinary at all. With good behavior, its actually rather normal, they just have constant checkups on that person.

Hes on Parole, and is being treated the same as any other murderer whos served his time over there. You can't deny someone their freedom just becuase he killed the guy in a band you like.

But yeah i get your point, for parole he can be let out yes, i got the impression that they were releasing him fully. While it might not be "weird" that murderers get released early through good behaviour, i still don't see this as good. Neither in Vargs case, or in other peoples cases(i reacted just the same when a guy got released after 14 years prison, convicted for first degree murder, it was in the media then too, and he was not particularly famous through media).


He's just another worthless murderer in my book. Or well, his Neo-Nazi views and sympathic behaviour influences me to hate him more, but seriously, who he killed is of no importance to me, nor that he is who he is, imo he should serve his time, and i feel that way for every other convicted murderer too. He, and others like him, gave up their freedom at the time they took someone elses life, at least for the time the Judge and Jury sentenced them for, i see nothing wrong with taking away their freedom for punishment.

Heck, i bet the only thing he lacks in prison is what he complains about, his wife and kids. Norwegian prisons are fucking hotels. Games, TV, even computers, whatever you want, you get. You can get an education, and you even get paid by the government to be in prison (aprox 20$ a day i believe). I can't say i pity his stay there.

At least he's got a massive debt hanging over him when he gets released.
