If we're still to talk about Mayhem here, I honestly think "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas" is a fucking masterpiece, better than all the later albums. And again, if you ask me, Dead was the best vocalist any black metal band could ever have. The voice in itself, sound-wise, wasn't so good as, let's say, Attila's. But there was a wholly different dimension he would give to the music by emotion. And I think he really felt all that stuff he used to sing about. So, if he truly did all that stuff people said he used to do in order to 'get himself in the mood', it really worked. I really feel sorry for the fact his life ended so early, listening to early Mayhem stuff is just great.
Getting back to Varg, let's talk some bullshit now. I would honestly like to think he changed and all that, but the guy just ain't looking trustworthy to me. On the other hand, he might not be the monster he seems to be. Strange thing, I honestly don't give a damn about Burzum, it really ain't such good music for me. But I've started showing a lot of interest in Vikernes' life and I'm pretty curious to see what happens next.

I dunno. I can listen to it pretty much everywhere. It may sound like fucking shit (being MIDI and all), but it's so atmospheric. Just puts me in a really bleak, hateful mood. I love it.

I dont see a reason why Varg should not be out of Prison. Since his escape they have let him travel places on ferrys and such. Even the prison says he is adjusting well to life outside the walls. The dude had toned down significantly and like I said before he just wants to life in peace with his family. If he doesnt fuck up again good for him. If not throw his ass back in.

Oh, I understand that completely. Burzum is not for everyone. But to say that the band sucks, is just incorrect (and pretty homoerotic, to be completely honest).

Since the band is incredibly innovative, at least in the metal scene, and because Varg is a fucking genius, songwriting-wise? I admit that Burzum's music may be a bit grating for some, but that's the listener's fault, not the band's.
